Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method, apparatus and electronic device for downloading files. The method for downloading files comprises: creating a target file for a file to be downloaded, dividing the file to be downloaded into data segments and assigning multiple threads to download the data segments, wherein each data segment has start position information; opening the target file by the multiple threads, and setting file pointers to write positions corresponding to the start position information of the data segments the threads are respectively responsible for downloading; and downloading the data segments and writing the downloaded data segments to the target file starting from the write positions by the multiple threads. The method, apparatus and electronic device for downloading files provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure can download files through multiple threads and write to a target file, which makes downloading smoother and improves download experience for users.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and electronic device for video definition switching. The method comprises: loading a first fragment file of a first definition video from a pre-set second level cache region to a video stream cache region to be played; receiving a definition switching instruction; acquiring a configuration file of a second definition video from a video server according to the instruction; determining a second fragment file which corresponds to the first fragment file and meets a smooth switching condition in the second definition video; sequentially loading all fragment files arranged after the second fragment file in the second definition video to the second level cache region; and loading the fragment files to the video stream cache region after the first fragment file is played completely, and starting to play the second definition video.

Abstract: The present application discloses a method for displaying a bullet screen of a video, an electronic device and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, wherein the method includes: creating a bullet screen layer including a transparent data layer and a transparent view layer between a video presentation layer and a user interface operating layer of the player, where the data layer is used for displaying characters, and the view layer is used for displaying images; dividing acquired bullet screen data of the current playing video into a character bullet screen and an image bullet screen according to class identifiers included in the bullet screen data; and sending the read character bullet screen to the data layer for display and the read image bullet screen to the view layer for display.
