  • Patent number: 5056050
Abstract: In a process according to the invention for automatic calibration and/or linearization of a high-resolution electronic balance, point values are assigned by a function to the disturbance variables (parameters) that can affect the weighing result. A calibration and/or linearization is indicated or triggered when the accumulated point values reach a triggering point value (Xa) that is presettable, balance-specific and/or dependent on the environment. The calibration and/or linearization can also be triggered when the accumulated point value of a single disturbance variable reaches a triggering point value which is below point number (Xa).

  • Patent number: 4567481
Abstract: In addition to the normal weight display, a display for a balance has a number of other areas in each of which a word indicative of an operation which has been or may be carried out is displayed. The words to be displayed are arranged on an exchangeable card which may be inserted into the balance. Light from each particular area of the card is transmitted or blocked by application of control signals to a liquid crystal which is interposed between the card and the operator's view. The control signals are applied in accordance with the program being carried out and with signals derived from operator controlled keys. The display may be used to direct the operator, since only the operations possible at any particular time are visible. The cards may be imprinted in any language or type of letters, without requiring any change in the remainder of the balance or display.

  • Patent number: 4512429
Abstract: An electromechanical weighing apparatus is disclosed including a device for correcting the load measurement in accordance with the given gravitational force existing at the geographical place of installation of the weighing apparatus. An adjusting mechanism (6) is used to set various switching states corresponding with given different predetermined gravitational acceleration values, respectively, and a calculator or microprocessor (41)--operable in accordance with the aforementioned switching positions to supply from a storage unit corresponding retrievable gravity values--determines the adjusted gravitational acceleration value that is to be used to modify the measured weight signal to produce a geographically-corrected signal of the mass of the object being weighed that is displayed on the indicating device.

  • Patent number: 4113436
Abstract: Operating stations of an automatic analysis apparatus are arranged along a path in which a specimen to be analyzed is moved in a container on a carrier. The specimen is transferred from the carrier to a container supporting platform of each station where it is to be processed, thereby permitting another specimen to by-pass the same station. Different sequences of operations may be performed simultaneously on several specimens without interfering with each other.
