  • Patent number: 4170932
Abstract: An electronic control for controlling the degree of toasting of a bread slice in a toaster. The control includes a thermocouple located within the passage of the toaster for the bread slice and responsive to the temperature of the toaster casing, the slice of bread and the air temperature within the passage to produce a voltage proportional to the resultant temperature. This voltage is integrated and actuates an electronic pulse generator with an adjustable pulse width which produces a triggering pulse. This pulse is used to actuate a solenoid which unlatches the support for the bread slice. The operational amplifier has a predetermined output voltage of reference defining the threshold of operation of the pulse generator. The electronic control is very stable and, therefore, produces uniform toasting, since it integrates the time required to obtain the desired degree of toasting as a function of the temperature variation to which the bread slice is subjected.

  • Patent number: 4142459
Abstract: A toaster characterized by a compact construction and low energy consumption achieved by a shallow toasting portion foldable against a wall mounting portion and by toasting of the slices of bread in zones step-by-step across the breadth of the slices of bread by edgewise displacement of the slices of bread each in a toasting slot extending through the shallow toasting portion and between two elongated heating elements and transversely to the latter with a heat sensitive device controlling even toasting of the zones and stepwise displacement of the slice of bread. The toaster includes a step-by-step actuation mechanism mounted in the wall mounting portion and displacing a toast support toward and away relative to the toasting slot.

  • Patent number: 4098178
Abstract: A toaster adapted for compact mounting and fixing flat against a wall in inoperative position, which has a toasting portion pivotable to an operative position, and wherein the toast is ejected merely by dropping it through an outlet slot in the bottom of the toaster. This wall toaster includes a wall mounting flat portion, a flat toasting portion, a hinge pivotally connecting the toasting portion to the wall mounting portion and producing electric plugging of the toasting portion by operative abutment against the wall mounting portion and a gate is pivotally mounted over the toast outlet slot and operatively opened by an electric operator in response to predetermined toasting of the slice of bread in the toaster.
