  • Patent number: 10663073
Abstract: A thermostatic device including a thermostatic element and a stopper, axially movable about a stationary seat of a housing, opening and closing a passage circulating fluid and connected to a movable portion of the thermostatic element. During expansion of a thermoexpansible material of the thermostatic element, the movable portion drives the stopper axially relative to the seat. The stopper includes a seal, resting tightly against the seal when the fluid circulation passage is closed by the stopper, a first part, with an inner bore receiving the movable portion, and a second part, separate from the first part, the seal being axially charged between the first and second parts.

  • Publication number: 20100186831
Abstract: The valve (10) comprises a hollow body (12) for receiving a thermostatic member (50) that comprises a cup (501) for receiving an expandable wax and a slider (503) capable of displacement due to the wax expansion, a first pair of connectors (141, 142) defining a first fuel path and a second pair of connectors (161, 162) defining a second fuel path, the hollow body (12) further defining a short-circuit (60) between the rust and second fuel paths. The valve further includes an actuator (40) that can be operated from the outside of the body (12), wherein said actuator (40) is capable of moving the slider (503) from a short-circuit (60) free-passage position to a short-circuit closed position, and of maintaining the slider in said closed position.

  • Patent number: 7275697
Abstract: A valve comprises a housing, a movable check mechanism that is suitable for regulating passage of a fluid between an inlet orifice and an outlet orifice of the housing, a stationary seat for receiving the check mechanism, and a thermostatic element that is provided with a body, which contains an expandable material, and a movable piston, with this body being stationary relative to the housing. In order to prevent excessive pressure from being generated in the valve, on a side of the check mechanism where the thermostatic element is arranged, the check mechanism and the piston are connected by a part that is integral with the valve and delimits a blind recess for receiving the piston, with a base of the recess forming a stop for the piston when a difference in pressure on either side of the check mechanism is less than a predetermined value, while a wall of the recess forms a surface for sliding contact with the piston when this difference in pressure is greater than this predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 7036745
Abstract: A thermostatic valve comprises a casing which delimits openings for circulation of a fluid, a mobile sleeve for regulating passage of the fluid between the openings, a fixed seat for receiving the sleeve and a thermostatic member which has a mobile piston. The sleeve is mounted on the piston in such a manner to control, at least in part, displacements of the sleeve relative to the seat. The valve also comprises a controlled member for driving a body of the thermostatic member in accordance with a direction of displacement of the piston.

  • Publication number: 20050001045
Abstract: This thermostatic valve (10) comprises a casing (12) which delimits openings (14, 16, 18) for the circulation of the fluid, a mobile sleeve (22) for regulating the passage of the fluid between the openings, a fixed seat (34) for receiving the sleeve (22) and a thermostatic member (40) which has a mobile piston (44). The sleeve (22) is mounted on the piston in such a manner to control, at least in part, the displacements of the sleeve relative to the seat. The valve also comprises controlled means (56, 66) for driving the body (42) of the thermostatic member (40) in accordance with the direction of displacement of the piston (44). Application to a cooling circuit for engines having large cubic capacities, for example truck engines.

  • Patent number: 6698720
Abstract: In a valve member adapted to co-operate with an annular seat and comprising a plate with an annular channel for receiving a gasket which is crimped by folding in an outer wall of the channel, any risk of the gasket being ruptured is minimized by the outer surface of the gasket presenting, in the absence of any stress being exerted thereon, a first region extending frustoconically towards the central axis of the valve member, which first region is extended by a second region extending frustoconically away from the central axis, and by the outer wall of the channel being folded progressively towards the first region so as to fit snugly against the shape thereof without penetrating into the material of the gasket, without exerting any stress thereon, and without compressing it. The valve member is suitable for use in particular in thermostat valves.
