  • Publication number: 20030231261
Abstract: A short throw projection system and method for displaying a corrected optical image on a projection screen based on input image data that includes an electronic correction unit, an image projector and a reflection assembly. The electronic correction unit receives the input image data and generates pre-distorted image data. The image projector receives the pre-distorted image data from the electronic correction unit and projects a pre-distorted optical image that corresponds to the pre-distorted image data or a pre-distorted image compensated by the projection optic distortion. The optical reflection assembly is positioned in the optical path of the pre-distorted optical image to project an optical image on the projection screen. The reflection assembly can consist of various combinations of curved and planar mirrors as desired.

  • Patent number: 6594404
Abstract: A method and apparatus for resizing a digital video image composed of a plurality of source pixels which are resized to a plurality of target pixels using a technique which comprises: expressing the point brightness energy associated with each source pixel as an area which spans two source pixel intervals, each said area span having a shape which is proportional to the energy distribution of the source pixel with time; creating for each target pixel a sample aperture of duration which is a function of the resizing factor, sampling the area spans with each sample aperture to provide, for each target pixel, a set of coefficients, each coefficient representing the proportion of an area span which is within the sample aperture; and scaling, with its associated coefficient, the amount of point brightness energy of each source pixel whose area span appears within any given sample aperture.

  • Patent number: 6088450
Abstract: A wireless authentication system to control an operating state of a node being a computer, door control mechanism or any muti-state product based on the proximity of an authorized user to the node. The wireless authentication system comprises a security device implemented within the computer and a user authentication token ("token") in possession of the authorized user. A Challenge/Response protocol is configured between the security device and the token. The first successful Challenge/Response message exchange between the security device and the token places the node in an operational state allowing the authorized user access to the contents and/or networked resources of the node. Later Challenge/Response message exchanges are set to occur periodically to check whether the authorized user possessing the token has left the node unattended thereby causing the node to be placed in a non-operational state.

  • Patent number: 5699542
Abstract: A method and apparatus for configuring the address space of a computer is described. According to the present invention, a computer system has a full address space and includes at least one base unit, at least one expansion unit and a microprocessor core. The microprocessor core issues access addresses. The full address space includes a base address space and an expanded address space. The base address space is addressed by an M bit address and the expanded address space is addressed by an N bit address (N.gtoreq.M). Each base unit is mapped to an address within the base address space, and the base unit address is mirrored in the expanded address space. Each expansion unit is mapped to an address within the expanded address space. An address configuration circuit in the computer system includes an address space remapping circuit for selectively remapping or not remapping base units out of the base address space.

  • Patent number: 5633932
Abstract: A system and method for preventing a copy of a document to the output from a printing node until the printing node authenticates the intended recipient. The system includes a sending node, a printing node and a communication link coupling these nodes together in a network fashion. The sending node has access to a public key of the printing node and uses this public key to encrypt a header and document before transmission to the printing node over the communication link. The priority node has access to its private key to decrypt the header to ascertain whether the document requires authentication by the intended recipient before being output.

  • Patent number: 4107964
Abstract: There is disclosed a device for crimping couplings to the ends of hydraulic hoses in which a plurality of die means are located around an axis, camming means is provided and is arranged to cause the die means to move radially inwardly towards the axis when the die means and camming means are moved axially relative to each other, and a hydraulic actuator is provided for causing that relative axial movement. When a coupling is inserted between the die means, operation of the hydraulic actuator causes the die means to move inwardly and thereby compress or crimp the coupling. The hydraulic actuator has an annular hydraulic fluid chamber to which pressure is applied to operate the actuator. Further features are that adjusting means is provided, for pre-setting the outside diameter to which the device will crimp a coupling, the adjusting means being co-axial with the device for increased accuracy, and having a construction which involves no projecting parts, so as to avoid damage.
