Patent number: 12173168Abstract: Herein is described a method of providing a printed label. The method comprises applying a radiation curable overcoat composition to a liquid electrostatically printed ink disposed on a label substrate; wherein the radiation curable overcoat composition comprises radiation curable monomers and/or oligomers; a photoinitiator; a polyalkylsiloxane containing at least two reactive functional groups, wherein the reactive functional groups are selected from hydrogen, hydroxyl, amino and a double bond; and a cross-linker containing at least two epoxide groups. Printed labels and a radiation curable overcoat composition are also described herein.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2019Date of Patent: December 24, 2024Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Inna Tzomik, Faina Kogan, Liora Braun, Daniel Skvirsky

Patent number: 12038701Abstract: Here is provided a method of printing on a substrate, the method comprising: providing a substrate, wherein the substrate has been primed by a primer composition comprising water, an epoxide crosslinker, polyethyleneimine and a glycol co-solvent, the primer composition having formed a primer layer on the substrate, and printing an electrostatic ink on the primer layer. A fluid set comprising the primer composition and an electrostatic ink is also described herein.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2020Date of Patent: July 16, 2024Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Chen Zigdon, Liora Braun, Mirit Shitrit, Inna Tzomik, Regina Guslitzer

Patent number: 11958306Abstract: In an example of the disclosure, a priming lane and a non-priming lane are identified within an image frame to be printed by a printer. A line of molten wax is applied to the roller. The molten wax when cooled is to form a wax ridge upon the roller. The roller having the formed wax ridge is wetted with the primer. The wetted roller is rotated against the substrate to apply the primer. A first width of the wetted roller that does not include the wax ridge forms the priming lane upon the substrate. A second width of the roller that includes the wax ridge causes the primer to not transfer and thereby forms the non-priming lane upon the substrate.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2019Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Chen Zigdon, Mirit Shitrit, Liora Braun

Publication number: 20230249214Abstract: Example implementations relate to selectively deflecting substrates. One example implementation includes an apparatus to selectively lift a part of a substrate away from a transfer member when the substrate is advancing in a substrate coating system relative to the transfer member, such that, across a width of the substrate, a first part of the substrate is coated by the transfer member and a second part of the substrate, that is lifted by the apparatus, remains uncoated.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2023Publication date: August 10, 2023Applicant: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Chen ZIGDON, Daniel SKVIRSKY, Roy BEERI, Liora BRAUN

Patent number: 11590749Abstract: Described herein is a process for preparing a flexible packaging material. The process may comprise: providing a printed first flexible substrate comprising an ink composition on a surface of a first flexible substrate, the ink composition comprising a first thermoplastic resin; depositing a further composition comprising a cross-linker, a white pigment and a second thermoplastic resin onto the printed ink composition such that the thermoplastic resin of the ink composition is cross-linked; and laminating the first flexible substrate with a second flexible substrate such that the ink composition, the further composition and the cross-linker are disposed between the first and second flexible substrates.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2018Date of Patent: February 28, 2023Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Hajime Machikawa, Liora Braun, Chen Zigdon
