Abstract: A printer includes a data receiving unit, a print mechanism, a print controlling module and a power management module. The data receiving unit is capable of receiving a file from a client. The print mechanism is used for printing out the file into hard copy. The print controlling module is connected to the print mechanism for processing the file. The power management module is capable of detecting activity of the data receiving unit and supplying power to the printing controlling module and the print mechanism. When no file is received by the data receiving unit for a predetermined time, the power management module is capable of cutting off the power to print management module and the print mechanism.

Abstract: A portable communication device includes a receiving module, a pulse signal generating module, a timer module, and detection module. The receiving module is configured for receiving incoming signals sent to the portable communication device. The pulse signal generating module is configured for generating pulse signals when a portable communication device body is tapped. There is a first predetermined limit and a second predetermined limit, and the timer module is configured for starting timing when the pulse signal generating module generates the pulse signals, and stopping timing at the second predetermined limit. The detection module is configured for starting to detect if the pulse signal generating module generates pulse signals at the time between the first predetermined limit and the second predetermined limit. The detection module directs the receiving module to refuse or accept the incoming signals according to detecting results.

Abstract: A method for determining the positions of contacts through a global positioning system (GPS) is disclosed. The method includes sending position requests to the contacts, feeding back the current position information of the contacts to a GPS receiver of a user after receiving position requests, searching the contacts located within a same geographical region as the user according to the feedback information and displaying a list of the contacts to the user in the same geographical region.

The gateway receives messages from Internet users via the server, and transmits messages from Internet users to the mobile phone.
