  • Patent number: 6060663
Abstract: Foamed wire harnesses are provided with a jacket to protect the wires. The jackets are formed with convoluted structure to center the wires during foaming. The indented portions are spaced by full-sized portions. Also, the indented portions are noncontinuous in a circumferential direction. The non-indented portions provide protection to the encased wires by preventing movement of sheet metal or other components into the convoluted areas.

  • Patent number: 5829441
Abstract: A mandible extension dental device (10) is provided which includes adjustable upper and lower arch trays (12, 14) and coupling means (16) designed to pull the lower jaw of a user forwardly during sleep, so as to minimize snoring and mild apnea conditions. Each of the arch trays (12, 14) includes a substantially rigid synthetic body (18, 38) equipped with a pair of generally L-shaped, continuous adjustment slots (32, 34 and 46, 48). Thermoplastic molding material (36, 60) within each tray (12, 14) permits custom fitting of the trays (12, 14) to the upper and lower arches of a patient. During such fitting, the tray bodies (18, 38) are adjusted as necessary owing to the provision of the slots (32, 34 and 46, 48) to accommodate the arch configurations of the patient. Once the material (36, 60) hardens, the patient-specific arch configurations are permanently retained. The device (10) can be rapidly fitted in the field without the need for the services of a dentist.

  • Patent number: 5746201
Abstract: A comfortable, leak-resistant CPAP nose mask (10) is provided having a soft, resilient, synthetic resin body (12) and an air source connection fitting (14). The body (12) presents an internal nose-receiving cavity (20) as well as a generally triangular nose entrance opening (16) and a spaced, opposed, inhale/exhale opening (18); the openings (16,18) are in communication with the cavity (20). The entrance opening (16) is defined by a circumscribing flange (20) and an inboard, pliable, inwardly extending, sealing lip (32). A metallic, deformable, shape-retaining reinforcing member (42) is secured to the outer surface of the flange (22) and extends over the bridge (24) and sidewall regions (26, 28) of the flange (22). The member (42) can be readily shaped so as to accommodate the shape and contour of the user's nose and face.

  • Patent number: 5231979
Abstract: A humidifier (10) is provided which includes a body (16) defining a plenum (32) for receiving air and a quantity of water therewithin, said body (16) further presenting a tubular inlet (18) and a-tubular outlet (20), and a baffle (34) for directing the flow of air therethrough, said body (16) being integrally formed. A shelf (58) is provided adjacent the outlet (20) for minimizing the effect of waves generated by the flow of circulating air and inhibiting the discharge of water droplets through the outlet (20) which would otherwise be carried by the circulating air. The body (16) is preferably provided with a U-shaped sidewall (55) with the baffle (34) positioned between first and second sidewalls (36, 38) thereof so that the air introduced through the inlet (18) is directed in a U-shaped flow path to enhance humidification before it is exhausted through the outlet (20).
