  • Publication number: 20230321342
Abstract: A syringe pump determines, upon receiving a new syringe, that at least a first portion of a predetermined amount of a first fluid was previously delivered by the syringe pump according to a first fluid delivery order before the new syringe was loaded into the syringe pump, and determines a second portion of the first fluid remaining to be delivered to complete the predetermined amount of the first fluid for the first fluid delivery order. A delivery of a second fluid is initiated by the syringe pump and, when an amount of the second fluid delivered from the new syringe satisfies the second portion of the first fluid remaining to be delivered, the pump automatically, without user intervention, indicates the first fluid delivery order as being complete, de-associates the first fluid delivery order from the syringe pump, and associates the syringe pump with the second fluid delivery order.

  • Publication number: 20230187063
Abstract: A medical device is configured to store, in a session memory, data regarding operational parameters of the medical device, changes to the parameters, and physiological data of a patient associated with the medical device. A clinician may select, via a user interface of the medical device, a portion of the session memory to a remote device with a request for assistance regarding a problem occurring at the medical device. The portion of the session may be reviewed at the remote device in a graphical copy of a user interface of the medical device as it appeared when the data was recorded, and a workflow is generated at the remote device and sent to the medical device to assist the clinician in resolving issues at the medical device. A session may be started without an identification of the patient or a medical component, and the identification updated at a later time.

  • Publication number: 20220223249
Abstract: A method of associating an infusion bag (e.g., bottle, pouch, or other container), an administration set, and a pump of an infusion device includes receiving an indication that an administration set is being coupled to a pump, the indication including an administration set identifier of the administration set. The method includes transmitting data about an association of an infusion bag identifier with the administration set identifier. The method includes receiving first information about a content of the infusion bag associated with the infusion bag identifier. The method includes receiving a drug identification for a medical fluid to be infused, and evaluating the drug identification with the first information about the content of the infusion container. In accordance with determining that the first information about the content of the infusion bag corresponds to the drug identification, permitting the pump to start infusing the content of the infusion bag.

  • Publication number: 20220193336
Abstract: An infusion device includes a pump, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to provide an infusion of a medication to a current patient, send infusion information, during the infusion, to a remote records system, receive, from the records system, a confirmation of the infusion information including an association between the infusion and the patient or the pump, receive an indication of a change to the infusion, compare the change with the association information received from the system, determine, based on the comparing, that the association received from the system no longer applies to the infusion, update the representation of the status displayed on the display screen to indicate that the association information received from the system no longer applies to the infusion, and send a message to the system indicating that the infusion device has determined that the association information no longer applies to the changed infusion.

  • Publication number: 20220165411
Abstract: The disclosed systems and methods manage more notifications between medical devices. A method includes obtaining information corresponding to a clinician and determining whether the information satisfies coordination criteria. The method includes, in accordance with a determination that the clinician is associated with the first medical device and a second medical device, detecting a first and second notification generated by respective medical devices. The method includes identifying, based on detecting the respective notifications, alert information including medical information for a patient receiving medical treatment from the first and second medical device. The method includes determining, based on the identified information, notification priorities between the respective notifications.

  • Publication number: 20220165405
Abstract: The disclosed systems and methods for reducing alarm strain generated by a medical device. A medical device for reducing generated alarm strain includes a display to present visually perceivable information, an audio output to present audibly perceivable information, processors coupled with the display and the audio output, and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processors, cause the medical device to perform operations. The instructions, when executed, cause the medical device to receive a notification regarding the medical device. The notification is associated with an audible manifestation and a visual manifestation. The instructions, when executed, also cause the medical device to detect that a user is focused on the medical device, after said detection of the user, determine a volume adjustment to the audio output for presenting the audible manifestation, and adjust the audio output to cause presentation of the audible manifestations according to the volume adjustment.

  • Publication number: 20220157445
Abstract: A method includes receiving a request to activate a medical device. Response to receiving the request, the method includes generating an automatic programming request (APR) for programming the medical device, receiving a message indicating that the APR failed to activate the medical device, and obtaining historical programming records (HPR)s. The method includes determining that parameters in the APR correspond to historical parameters, identifying a set of HPRs including a historical parameter value corresponding to a requested parameter value included the APR, and generating a deviation metric indicating a degree of difference between a secondary parameter value included in the APR and a corresponding historical parameter value. The method includes, responsive to a determination that a deviation metric meets a criticality threshold, changing a drug library record associated with the respective set of deviations and providing an indication to review the changed drug library record.
