  • Patent number: 11426551
Abstract: A nasal ventilation mask supplies breathing gas to an airway of a patient. The mask has a housing defining an internal cavity and having a peripheral end defining an end opening. The end opening is in fluid communication with the internal cavity. The end opening is configured to be positioned over an airway on a face of the patient. A sealing member is connected to the housing proximate the end opening. The sealing member extends towards the internal cavity and is configured to abut the face of the patient and deflect towards the internal cavity. The housing further defines a connector assembly having an opening in fluid communication with the internal cavity. The connector assembly is configured to be operably connected to a supply of breathing gas.

  • Patent number: 7613804
Abstract: The present invention leverages a data gathering service to provide information regarding a network system's health, performance and/or utilization via a computing entity, local and/or remote. This provides an optimized means to aggregate a single network's data and/or multiple networks' data, decreasing the amount of effort required by system administrators to keep a network operational and/or to provide control of its utilization and/or update a system's state. In one instance of the present invention, a data gathering service aggregates data from systems and provides access to this information via a communication means. In another instance of the present invention, aggregated data is utilized to provide manual and/or automatic control of one or more aspects of a system's utilization and/or state by an entity and/or a person.

  • Patent number: 7430598
Abstract: The present invention leverages a data gathering service to provide information regarding a system's health state via a computing entity, local and/or remote. This provides an optimized means to aggregate a single network's data and/or multiple networks' data, decreasing the amount of effort required by system administrators to manage health related alerts. In one instance of the present invention, a data gathering service aggregates health data from systems and provides access to this information via a communication means. In another instance of the present invention, aggregated, averaged data is utilized to provide manual and/or automatic control and/or management facilitation of health monitoring related tasks.

  • Publication number: 20030235588
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel method for treating and/or preventing thioredoxin (TRX)-mediated diseases and conditions, by administering to a subject in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or hydrate thereof. The HDAC inhibitor can alter the expression of a thioredoxin-binding-protein (e.g. TBP-2), which in turn can lead to an altered TRX/thioredoxin-binding-protein cellular binding interaction, resulting in an increase or decrease in the level or activity of cellular TRX, for example the expression level or reducing activity of TRX. Thus the present invention relates to the use of HDAC inhibitors in a method of preventing and/or treating a wide variety of thioredoxin (TRX)-mediated diseases and conditions, such as inflammatory diseases, allergic diseases, autoimmune diseases, diseases associated with oxidative stress or diseases characterized by cellular hyperproliferation.

  • Patent number: 5645066
Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system is provided with a scanning guide which assists a user in conducting three dimensional ultrasonic scanning of a patient. The guide is visual or audible or both, and gives the physician a real time indicator by which to gauge the rate and duration of three dimensional ultrasonic scanning. In a constructed embodiment the scanning guide is modulated by a counter coupled to cine memory, in which image frames are stored for three dimensional processing. As the cine memory fills toward capacity with ultrasonic image frames, the scanning guide is modulated in correspondence with the filling of the memory. A visual indicator of the ultrasonic frame sequence in memory is also provided, on which the user can move markers to eliminate frames at the beginning or end of the sequence from the three dimensional reconstruction.
