Publication number: 20240136029Abstract: A method for predicting yield and composition changes during urea inclusion fractionation to select a fatty acid methyl ester source for biofuel. The method can include heating a solid urea inclusion compound to a decomposition temperature, allowing the solid urea inclusion compound to decompose, heating again to a melting temperature, allowing the solid urea to melt, cooling to the decomposition temperature, and cooling again to a temperature below the decomposition temperature. Each heating, cooling, decomposing, and melting step can have its change in enthalpy and entropy recorded. A thermodynamic model can be calculated using the recorded changes in enthalpy and entropy.
