  • Patent number: 11102543
Abstract: A multi-window user interface (UI) on a control device such as a tablet computer communicates commands to a display controller, which may be implemented by a game console. The controller controls presentation on a large screen display according to the commands. The control device may always present a multi-window UI which the control device can command to have mimicked on the display, with the UI also being configured to cause a single video to be presented whole screen on the display while the multi-window UI remains presented on the control device. The video feeds that populate the multi-window UI are of the same content but of lower resolution than those which are presented on the display. A movable window on the control device can be dragged and dropped to cause a corresponding magnifying focus on the display over the corresponding portion of video in focus on the control device.

Abstract: A multi-window user interface (UI) on a control device such as a tablet computer communicates commands to a display controller, which may be implemented by a game console. The controller controls presentation on a large screen display according to the commands. A tertiary device such as a wireless phone can obtain an application listing audio feeds associated with various videos presented on the display so that a user can listen via headphones to a first audio stream associated with a first video window on the display when the display speakers are playing audio associated with a second video window on the display.

  • Patent number: 9351063
Abstract: A system and methods for providing a wireless earplug system are described. An earplug includes a wireless receiver/transmitter, a battery, a speaker, a sound canal and an on/off switch. The system also includes a controller including a wireless receiver/transmitter used to transmit wireless signals to the earplug. The earplug receives the wireless signals from the controller and plays audio sounds through the speaker and into the user's ear canal, thus enabling the user to hear the transmitted audio signals while ambient noises are blocked. The controller is also used to control the parameters of the time, duration and type of audio sounds.

  • Publication number: 20150332327
Abstract: A retail display arrangement includes multiple video displays disposed on a wall in an arrangement. A content server causes a shopper terminal to present a user interface (UI) with video feature selectors. A shopper can select a feature and in response the content server sends content enhanced with the feature to some but not all of the displays, with the same content, not enhanced with the feature, being shown on a remaining display to better illustrate the feature to the shopper. The UI presents windows mimicking the display arrangement, and each window indicates whether the corresponding display on the wall presents content enhanced with the feature.

  • Patent number: 8982283
Abstract: A method of scanning television channels at initial setup. The method includes at a first power mode, automatically scanning for channels using a first scanning setup procedure during which the television is unusable by a user. The first power mode is when the television is at a full power mode. The detected channels are automatically provided for use by the television upon completion of the first scanning setup procedure. The method further includes automatically scanning for channels using a second scanning setup procedure at a second power mode following the first power mode. The second power mode is at a lower power mode than the first power mode, and the second scanning setup procedure is more time consuming in comparison to the first scanning setup procedure. Additional channels not detected during the initial setup by the first scanning setup procedure are automatically detected at the second power mode.

  • Patent number: 8456579
Abstract: This disclosure presents an apparatus and method for automatic gain control correction for a television signal in which the Radio Frequency (RF) and Intermediate Frequency (IF) power signal levels are collected for a band of channels, identifying a channel having a strong RF power signal level and an IF gain signal level that is lower than a nominal IF gain signal level, comparing the identified channel RF gain signal level with the RF gain signal level of adjacent channels to identify the relative power signal levels of the channel and associated adjacent channels, and applying correction to the channel wherein there is an imbalance in the RF and IF power signal levels of the identified channel. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.
