Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure set forth techniques for providing speed limit information to a vehicle. In an aspect, a computer-implemented method includes receiving, from a vehicle, navigation information associated with the vehicle; determining one or more predicted positions associated with the vehicle based on the navigation information; determining one or more candidate map regions associated with the vehicle based on the one or more predicted positions; associating corresponding speed limit information with each of the one or more candidate map regions; and transmitting, to the vehicle, the one or more candidate map regions; wherein the one or more candidate map regions are usable by the vehicle to provide speed limit information to a driver of the vehicle.
