Abstract: A method, a network device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in relation to a data network name (DNN) replacement service. The DNN replacement service may be provided in a roaming context associated with an end device. The DNN replacement service may be implemented by a network device of a home core network of the end device. The network device may obtain a policy pertaining to a session establishment between a visited core network and a home core network. The network device may determine whether DNN replacement is applicable based on the policy. The network device may modify a message to establish the session creation by including a replacement DNN when DNN replacement is applicable.

Abstract: A method, a network device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in relation to an detection and autocorrection of stale session information service. The detection and autocorrection service may include the addition of a header, which may indicate date and time information, with a message that has an origination timestamp header. The header may be added to the message by an intermediary network device relative to origin and destination network devices associated with a network procedure. The header may enable detection by a network device of stale session information. The header may enable the network device to determine whether to ignore the message as a duplicate message or use the message to carry out the network procedure. In this way, duplicate messages that may include the same origination timestamp header may be managed and stale information may be detected.

Abstract: A network device may receive a context creation request based on a protocol data unit (PDU) session establishment request for establishing a PDU session with a user device, and may generate a policy context request based on receiving the context creation request. The network device may provide the policy context request to a policy control function (PCF), and may receive, from the PCF and based on the policy context request, policy rules for the PDU session. The network device may receive, from the PCF, a terminate PDU session notification indicating that a binding support function (BSF) is unreachable, and may generate, based on the terminate PDU session notification, a PDU session release command that includes a cause code indicating an issue with the BSF and an instruction to not reinitiate the PDU session. The network device may cause the PDU session release command to be provided to the user device.

Abstract: In some implementations, a network device may obtain a message that includes service parameter data associated with an application. The service parameter data may indicate a revalidation time. The network device may generate, based on the service parameter data, a user equipment route selection policy (URSP) rule associated with the application that includes the revalidation time indicated by the service parameter data. The URSP rule may expire at the revalidation time. The network device may transmit the URSP rule for a user equipment (UE) that executes the application. The network device may receive a state indication message associated with the UE that is triggered at the revalidation time.

Abstract: A system described herein may output a first access policy request associated with a User Equipment (“UE”). The system may receive a first access policy in response to the first access policy request, and may identify, after receiving the first access policy, that the first access policy has expired. The system may output, based on identifying that the first access policy has expired, a second access policy request associated with the UE, may receive a second access policy in response to the second access policy request, and may output the second access policy to at least one of the UE, or a radio access network (“RAN”) to which the UE is connected. The RAN may provide access to the UE in accordance with the first access policy until receiving the second access policy, after which the RAN may provide access to the UE in accordance with the second access policy.

The event reporting service may enable network devices, such as an application function, to subscribe to usage reporting in which notifications for a usage event may be reported periodically or non-singularly. The event reporting service may include data instances in messages exchanged between core network devices that configures the usage and event notification.

Abstract: In some implementations, a device may generate a user equipment (UE) route selection policy (URSP) rule that indicates a route selection descriptor and a traffic descriptor, and one of the route selection descriptor or the traffic descriptor indicates a core network (CN) type associated with the URSP rule. The device may transmit the URSP rule.

Abstract: In some implementations, an access and mobility management function (AMF) may receive subscribed network slice selection assistance information (NSSAI) that indicates location information associated with a slice and time information associated with the slice. The AMF may determine an allowed NSSAI based on one or more of the location information, the time information, a static policy, or a dynamic policy. A access and mobility policy control function (AM-PCF) may create the dynamic policy to determine a location and a time at which the subscribed NSSAI may be used. The AMF may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), an indication of the allowed NSSAI.

Abstract: In some implementations, a radio access network (RAN) may receive a graded quality of service (QoS) profile indicating a set of QoS profiles and corresponding observed flow data rates. The RAN may measure an observed flow data rate of traffic associated with a session. The RAN may select a QoS profile from the set of QoS profiles based on the observed flow data rate. The RAN may apply the QoS profile to the session.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide a selective network slice admission control (NSAC) service on a per user equipment (UE) device level, and include manage select NSAC criteria related to a first limit to a number of user equipment (UE) devices and a second limit to a number of protocol data unit (PDU) sessions supportable on a network slice; receive an indication that a first UE device requests a first PDU session on the network slice; apply at least one of the select NSAC criteria to the first UE device and/or the first PDU session; determine, based on the application, that the first UE device is countable toward the first limit and/or the first PDU session is countable toward the second limit; and generate an NSAC update response message indicating that the first UE device and/or the first PDU session is countable.

Abstract: A network device may receive a PDU session create message associated with establishing a PDU session with a user device and via a RAN, and may receive a first 5QI value and a second 5QI value associated with the PDU session. The network device may attempt to establish the PDU session with the first 5QI value and via the RAN, and may receive an indication that the first 5QI value is not supported for establishing the PDU session. The network device may cause the PDU session to be established with the second 5QI value, and via the RAN, based on the indication that the first 5QI value is not supported for establishing the PDU session.

The MME device may send, to an access and mobility function (AMF) device, a UE route selection policy (URSP) information request associated with the UE based on the UE state indication. The MME device may receive, from the AMF device, a URSP information response indicating URSP information associated with the UE based on the URSP information request. The MME may send, for the UE, the URSP information based on the UE state indication included in the attach request.

Abstract: A system may receive, by a first network device in an access network, a request to setup a radio access bearer (RAB) for use in establishing a connection with a user equipment (UE), wherein the request includes at least one Quality-of-Service (QOS) attribute associated with the request. The first network device may determine that the at least one QoS attribute is not supported by the access network and may send a notification that RAB setup has failed to a second network device in a core network, wherein the notification includes a cause indicator that indicates that the failure is caused by an unsupported QoS. In response, the core network may modify the request to include a default quality of service attribute that is supported by the access network and may send the modified request to the first network device.

Abstract: In some implementations, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, a UE route selection policy (URSP) that includes one or more URSP rules, wherein a URSP rule, of the one or more URSP rules, indicates one or more of: a radio access technology (RAT) associated with the URSP rule, or one or more public land mobile networks (PLMNs) associated with the URSP rule. The service may provide the control data to the end device during a registration procedure or a deregistration procedure with the end device. The end device may execute a remedial procedure based on the control data. The service may prevent the registering of the end device to the core network. The service may deregister the end device from the core network when the end device may be registered.

Abstract: In some implementations, a policy control function (PCF) device may receive, from an access and mobility management function (AMF) device, an access and mobility (AM) policy association request that is related to a user equipment (UE) that is associated with AM policy data. The PCF device may modify at least a portion of the AM policy data to generate modified AM policy data associated with the UE. The PCF device may create, based on the modified AM policy data, an AM control policy associated with the UE. The PCF device may transmit, to the AMF device, an AM policy association message, responsive to the AM policy association request, indicating the AM control policy.

Abstract: A network device of a network may receive a registration request from a user equipment, and may generate, based on the registration request, a request for a usage limit control associated with the user equipment. The network device may provide the request for the usage limit control to another network device of the network, and may receive, based on the request, the usage limit control from the other network device. The network device may determine a policy for the user equipment based on the usage limit control, and may cause the policy to be implemented for the user equipment.

The network device may receive, based on the request, the usage limit control from the other network device, and may determine a modified policy for the plurality of UEs based on the usage limit control. The network device may cause the modified policy to be implemented for the plurality of UEs.

Abstract: A network device of a network may generate a request for network slice status information associated with a plurality of UEs registered with the network, and may provide the request for the network slice status information to another network device of the network. The network device may receive, based on the request, the network slice status information from the other network device, and may determine a modified policy for the plurality of UEs based on the network slice status information. The network device may cause the modified policy to be implemented for the plurality of UEs.
