Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for automated recovery to re-provision a subscriber of a communication network are provided. A communication session establishment request for a user equipment of a subscriber to utilize a communication network may be received. Subscriber location information, session management subscription data, and policy data associated with the subscriber may be retrieved. A subscriber not found response may be received from a charging component as a response to a charging subscriber request for the charging component to track network and service utilization by the user equipment due to a prior failure to register the subscriber with the charging component. Accordingly, an automated self-healing action may be performed to re-provision the subscriber with the charging component for registering the subscriber for network and service utilization tracking by the charging component.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to enable operators to dynamically reject user equipment (UE) registrations for 5G networks based on certain policy criteria. A network device in a core network receives a registration request for a UE device, retrieves access and mobility subscription data for the UE device, and submits a policy association request message to an Access Management-Policy Control Function (AM-PCF). The policy association request message includes the access and mobility subscription data. The network device receives a policy association response message from the AM-PCF, determines whether the policy association response message includes an error code for a failed access management policy association, and rejects the registration request when the policy association response message includes the error code.

Abstract: A network device may receive a request for authentication data, for a UE attempting to register with a network, and an indication that a SUCI utilized by the UE is unencrypted, and may request, from a data store, the authentication data for the UE. The network device may provide, to the data store, a notification instructing the data store to push a UE parameters update (UPU) once a registration process is complete for the UE, and may receive the authentication data from the data store. The network device may complete the registration process for the UE based on the authentication data, and may receive the UPU from the data store based on the registration process being completed. The network device may cause the UE to detach from the network after utilizing the UPU, and may cause the UE to reconnect to the network with an encrypted SUCI.

Abstract: A system described herein may receive a first request to establish, modify, or remove a plurality of communication sessions between a User Equipment (“UE”) and a network. The system may output, to a policy element of the network (e.g., a Policy Control Function (“PCF”) or a Policy Charging and Rules Function (“PCRF”)), a second request for policies associated with the UE and the plurality of communication sessions, where the second request includes a plurality of communication session identifiers that are each associated with a particular one of the plurality of communication sessions. The system may receive and enforce the requested policy information when establishing, modifying, or removing the requested plurality of communication sessions based on the received particular policy information. The system may communicate with the policy element via an enhanced interface, such as an enhanced N7 interface or an enhanced Npcf interface.

Abstract: In some implementations, a unified data repository (UDR) device may receive, from a policy control function (PCF) device, an addition request to add access and mobility (AM) policy data to an AM policy data resource of the UDR device. The AM policy data may be associated with a user equipment (UE). The UDR device may add, based on the addition request, the AM policy data to the AM policy data resource of the UDR device.

Abstract: In some implementations, a unified data repository (UDR) device may receive, from a unified data management (UDM) device or a policy control function (PCF) device, a subscription request to subscribe to receive a data change notification from the UDR device. The subscription request may include a monitoring indication and a report indication. The monitoring indication may identify a monitored data set associated with a user equipment (UE). The report indication may identify an attribute data set associated with the UE and indicate a request to receive a report associated with the attribute data set. The UDR may transmit, to at least one of the UDM device or the PCF device, an indication of a subscription to receive the data change notification based on the subscription request and the report based on the report indication.

Abstract: A system described herein may output a first access policy request associated with a User Equipment (“UE”). The system may receive a first access policy in response to the first access policy request, and may identify, after receiving the first access policy, that the first access policy has expired. The system may output, based on identifying that the first access policy has expired, a second access policy request associated with the UE, may receive a second access policy in response to the second access policy request, and may output the second access policy to at least one of the UE, or a radio access network (“RAN”) to which the UE is connected. The RAN may provide access to the UE in accordance with the first access policy until receiving the second access policy, after which the RAN may provide access to the UE in accordance with the second access policy.

Abstract: In some implementations, a network device may receive an indication that a user equipment (UE) satisfied one or more conditions to obtain a temporary performance increase for wireless traffic. The network device may store information associating a wireless network subscription of the UE with the temporary performance increase based on the indication. The network device may receive a request from the UE to activate the temporary performance increase for wireless traffic associated with an application. The network device may provision a wireless network flow associated with the temporary performance increase based on the request. The network device may send information to configure one or more UE route selection policy (URSP) rules to the UE, wherein the one or more URSP rules include one or more parameters that enable the UE to route the wireless traffic associated with the application over the wireless network flow associated with the temporary performance increase.

The SMF may transmit, to a unified data management (UDM) or a unified data repository (UDR), a subscriber profile retrieval message for requesting session management subscription data for the plurality of DNNs. The SMF may receive, from the UDM or the UDR, an acknowledgement message that indicates the session management subscription data for the plurality of DNNs. The SMF may store the session management subscription data for the plurality of DNNs.

Abstract: A network device may receive a context creation request based on a protocol data unit (PDU) session establishment request for establishing a PDU session with a user device, and may generate a policy context request based on receiving the context creation request. The network device may provide the policy context request to a policy control function (PCF), and may receive, from the PCF and based on the policy context request, policy rules for the PDU session. The network device may receive, from the PCF, a terminate PDU session notification indicating that a binding support function (BSF) is unreachable, and may generate, based on the terminate PDU session notification, a PDU session release command that includes a cause code indicating an issue with the BSF and an instruction to not reinitiate the PDU session. The network device may cause the PDU session release command to be provided to the user device.

Abstract: In some implementations, a first network function device may transmit a request for discovery of a unified data management (UDM) device included in the core network. The first network function device may receive, based on the request, an indication of a UDM group identifier associated with the UDM device and a user data repository (UDR) group identifier associated with a UDR device that is associated with the UDM device. The first network function device may transmit, to one or more second network function devices included in the core network, an indication of at least one of the UDM group identifier or the UDR group identifier.

Abstract: In some implementations, a network device may obtain a message that includes service parameter data associated with an application. The service parameter data may indicate a revalidation time. The network device may generate, based on the service parameter data, a user equipment route selection policy (URSP) rule associated with the application that includes the revalidation time indicated by the service parameter data. The URSP rule may expire at the revalidation time. The network device may transmit the URSP rule for a user equipment (UE) that executes the application. The network device may receive a state indication message associated with the UE that is triggered at the revalidation time.

Abstract: A method may include receiving, by a policy control function (PCF), a first message including presence reporting area (PRA) information and status information identifying a type of network coverage associated with the PRA information. The method may also include determining, by the PCF, a policy for a user equipment (UE) device data session based on the received first message, and forwarding, by the PCF and prior to establishing the UE device data session, a second message identifying the determined policy to at least one of a session management function (SMF) or an access and mobility management function (AMF). The method may further include applying the determined policy to the UE device data session.

The method may also include transmitting, by the CHF and to a session management function (SMF) or a user plane function (UPF), a message notifying the SMF or UPF of the data usage threshold. The method may further include receiving, from the SMF or UPF, a notification that the data usage threshold has been reached, and sending, by the CHF, a message to a network exposure function (NEF) indicating that the data usage threshold has been reached.

Abstract: A method may include receiving, from a user device, a registration request that includes a subscription concealed identifier (SUCI), identifying a network element to decode the SUCI and forwarding the SUCI to the identified network element. The method may also include decoding the SUCI to identify a subscription permanent identifier (SUPI), identifying a unified data management (UDM) device associated with the SUPI and transmitting an authentication request to the identified UDM device to obtain authentication information associated with the user device. The method may further include receiving the authentication information and authenticating the user device based on the received authentication information.

Abstract: A first network device may receive, from an application server, a first request for a dedicated bearer session for an application with a quality of service (QoS) and for a notification of an idle session for the application. The first network device may generate, based on the first request, a second request to be notified regarding expiration of an idle session timer for the application, and may provide the second request to a second network device. The first network device may receive, from the second network device and based on the second request, a notification of expiration of the idle session timer for the application, and may provide, to the application server, the notification of expiration of the idle session timer for the application.

Abstract: A network device transmits data to a user equipment (UE) via a first Radio Access Network (RAN) using first Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) congestion control parameters. The network device receives a notification message indicating that the UE has moved from the first RAN to a second RAN. The network device modifies, responsive to receipt of the notification, the first TCP congestion control parameters to create second TCP congestion control parameters, where the first TCP congestion control parameters include a first slow start threshold (ssthresh), and wherein the second TCP congestion control parameters include a second ssthresh that is different than the first ssthresh. The network device transmits data to the UE via the second RAN using the second TCP congestion control parameters.

Abstract: A device may include a processor configured to determine that Quality of Service (QoS) monitoring is to be performed for a communication session; generate a QoS monitoring policy for the communication session; and provide the QoS monitoring policy to a Session Management Function (SMF) associated with the communication session. The processor may be further configured to receive a QoS monitoring report for the communication session from the SMF and perform an action based on the received QoS monitoring report.
