    Abstract: A rotor for an electric motor which includes permanent magnets is formed so that the possibility of demagnetization of the permanent magnets is reduced. The rotor has at least one permanent magnet embedded in a magnetically conductive rotor core, and at least one flux path in the rotor core, for a magnetic flux caused by a magnetic stator field generated by a stator of the electric motor. The rotor core is realized, with respect to at least one of the flux paths, with a magnetically conductive shunt that bridges at least one of the permanent magnets for the magnetic flux that is caused by the stator field.
