Abstract: A dental or medical device for use in construction of a finished dental or medical appliance which includes a shapable prepreg, where the prepreg coontains fibers, and at least one solid body attached to the prepreg. The solid body attached to the prepreg constitutes a solid body included in the finished appliance and forms a part or whole of the outer surface of the finished appliance. Also disclosed are methods for the manufacture of the device, either so that the prefabricated solid body is contacted with the prepreg, or so that the solid body is created simultaneously with the manufacturing of the device.
