  • Patent number: 7698236
Abstract: A targeted advertising system uses a machine learning tool to select an asset for a current user of a user equipment device, for example, to select an ad for delivery to a current user of a digital set top box in a cable network. The machine learning tool first operates in a learning mode to receive user inputs and develop evidence that can characterize multiple users of the user equipment device audience. In a working mode, the machine learning tool processes current user inputs to match a current user to one of the identified users of that user equipment device audience. Fuzzy logic may be used to improve development of the user characterizations, as well as matching of the current user to those developed characterizations. In this manner, targeting of assets can be implemented not only based on characteristics of a household but based on a current user within that household.

  • Publication number: 20100037255
Abstract: A broadcast targeting system is provided where third party database information is utilized in conjunction with broadcast network client information to identify households within the broadcast network including one or more desired recipients of targeted assets. In instances where a user equipment device of the targeted household includes multiple users (i.e., a multiple-user device), use of third party data in conjunction with an indication of which household member is currently using the multiple user device (e.g., set top box, etc.

  • Patent number: 5879143
Abstract: This invention relates to adaptors designed to secure an infusion-type pump to an enclosure for delivery of fluids, including medicaments, and the like to a patient in need of such treatment. The enclosure is of a type designed to house a fluid reservoir and conduit extending from the fluid reservoir to the infusion-type pump. The adaptor forms a substantially planar plate having a back face and a front face. The front face includes guides and a support plate to align the pump onto the adaptor. Securing grips are provided to secure the pump onto the adaptor. The adaptor has a back face to reversibly engage the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5788669
Abstract: A system for enabling and programming a plurality of pumps wherein each pump can be selectively enabled and loaded with an application program. Each pump also has an interface port. The system comprises a central computer having a storage medium configured to store a plurality of application programs and a remote computer. The remote computer has a first interface arranged and configured to be operatively connected to the interface port of the pumps, a second interface arranged and configured to be operatively connected to the central computer, and circuitry operatively connected to the storage medium, the first interface, and the second interface.

  • Patent number: 4237672
Abstract: A roofing vent adapted to be installed in the attic space of a building so as to communicate between a soffit zone and the attic space to improve the circulation of air therein and a special tool to facilitate the installation thereof. The roofing vent comprises an open-ended channel having a generally U-shaped cross-section and a plurality of transversely extending notches integrally formed in the bottom surface of the channel at spaced apart locations. The installation tool comprises an elongated handle having a vent gripping working surface at one end thereof. Also located proximate to this working surface is a roller member having its axis of rotation generally parallel to and a predetermined distance above the vent engaging surface. The length of the handle is such that an operator may stand in a location where the pitch of the roof permits sufficient head room for convenient working.
