    Abstract: An access door for an electrical enclosure is disclosed. The access door includes a hinge mechanism extending from the access door, the hinge mechanism defining an aperture including a support surface within the aperture, a flange extending from the enclosure and engaged within the aperture wherein the flange makes contact with the support surface when the door is in a fully open position to support the access door against the force of gravity.

    Abstract: A motor control center of the type including a short circuit protective device such as a circuit breaker or fusible disconnect, and a motor starter for interacting with an electric motor includes a wiring access cabinet at the top of the control center. The multi-phase conductors within the access cabinet are protected by means of a pair of slidably-arranged access doors. The doors are arranged in a different position along the front of the access cabinet to access each of the individual phase conductors.

    Abstract: An electrical port safety guard mechanism in the form of a shutter assembly is positioned between the vertical power bus conductors in an electric motor control center and the electric components contained therein. The shutter assembly allows access to the busbar conductors when the electrical components are inserted within the motor control center and prevents electrical access to the busbar conductors when the electrical components are removed therefrom.
