  • Publication number: 20160298969
Abstract: Some embodiments include a method of switching between different methods (e.g., domains) of computing location of an end-user device. For example, the end-user device can retrieving a building model from a backend server system. The building model can characterize a building in the physical world. The end-user device can collect sensor data corresponding to the multiple interrelated domains utilizing sensor components. The end-user device can determine a position of the end-user device by computing a first location based on sensor data in a first domain and a first domain map that correlates to and align with a physical domain map. The end-user device can then compute a second location based on sensor data of a second domain of the multiple inter-related domains and a second domain map that correlates to and align with the physical domain map.

  • Publication number: 20160300389
Abstract: Some embodiments include a method of providing an immersive virtual simulation. An end-user device can retrieve a building model from a backend server system. The building model can characterize a building in the physical world and have multiple inter-related domains of characterization including at least a radiofrequency (RF) domain map and/or a physical domain map. The end-user device can render a virtual simulation world. The virtual simulation world can include a virtual building structure based on the physical domain map. The end-user can collect inertial sensor data, wireless communication transceiver data, and/or virtual sensor data. The end-user device can then determine a position of the end-user device based on the collected data relative to the RF map and/or the physical domain map.

  • Publication number: 20160286351
Abstract: Some embodiments include a method of detecting an anomaly when a computing device is navigating utilizing a location service application. The computing device can track its movement in a movement log by computing a device location relative to a site model. The tracked movement can include a sequence of device location samples. The computing device can identify, via a physics simulation engine, the device location as a position anomaly based on the tracked movement and the site model. The computing device can classify the position anomaly as a data anomaly or as a model anomaly. The computing device can compute a corrected device location based on the classification of the position anomaly.

  • Patent number: 4045076
Abstract: The system includes a flexible button top which has a sleeve appurtenance which is force-fitted over an externally helically grooved stud assembly having an integral self-adhesive back mounting plate. The button top is flexible enough so that it can be applied to, and removed from the stud assembly without the use of a tool, yet it is hard enough so that the stud will not perforate the flexible button top when impacted. The adhesive-backed stud assembly includes a helically threaded metallic screw perpendicularly attached to a metallic circular disc with a plastic foam backing impregnated with adhesive. The adhesive backing is covered by a release film prior to use. The adhesive-backed stud assembly can be applied without the use of a tool.
