    Abstract: A triax cable contact provides improved high frequency performance by terminating the outer screen of the cable to an outer contact arranged to engage a ground clip in the connector and thereby ground the outer screen to the shell of the connector rather than directly to a corresponding outer contact of a mating triax contact. This permits the distance between the inner and intermediate contacts to be increased without increasing the outer diameter of the contact.

    Abstract: A triaxial contact assembly for use with a ground plane electrical connector includes an outer conductor which is grounded to the ground plane of the connector. The intermediate and inner contacts of the triaxial contact assembly have printed circuit board tails on their ends. The arrangement is such that bonding of the insulators to the contacts is eliminated via a cap which holds all internal contact assembly components in place. The cap, in turn, is held in place by crimping the outer contact.

    Abstract: A quick release, two part electrical connector assembly immediately responsive to an external axial release force transmitted thereto without interfering with manual uncoupling rotation seats the foot (58) from each of three locking fingers (56) against a bayonet pin (24) from the mated receptacle, each finger extending longitudinally from a locking ring (50) on the plug and adapted to be pulled outwardly of a coupling ring (30) as a result of the bayonet pins transmitting releasing forces to the feet. The locking ring is completely enclosed within the coupling ring and a coil spring (46) is disposed in an annular cavity (70) formed between the rings to resist forward axial movement of the locking ring relative to the plug part. A waved washer (28) seats against the plug flange (14) to bias the locking ring axially rearward.

An array of apertures of size sufficient to receive fasteners (68) pass through receptacle flange (18), annular flange (64), plate (70) and panel (30) annular flange (64) against flange (18) and panel (30) and moisture sealing thereabout.

    Abstract: Mating forward ends (14, 24) of a receptacle connector (10) mounted in a panel (18) and plug connector (20) carrying a coupling member (30, 34, 40) are protected by a moisture seal (60) when interconnected. The moisture seal comprises a tubular body portion (64) which squeezes about the coupling member and a cup portion (66) which collapsibly compresses about the panel mounted connector, tubular body (64) including an annular shoulder (62) sized to be received in an annular cavity (50) around a sleeve (40) of the coupling member. The cup (64) comprises a frust-conical skirt (68), an annular collar (67) connecting the skirt to the body (64) and an annular foot (69) for sealing about the panel (18), reduced thicknesses (71, 73, 74) of tubular body portion (64) and annular collar (67) allowing cup portion (64) to collapse rearwardly relative to the coupling member when the annular foot (69) is forced against the panel (18).

The seal is generally V-shaped, with an outer portion (62) being carried in an annular recess (48) of sleeve (40).
