    Abstract: A coupling nut is rotatably mounted on a barrel and retained thereon by the means of a snap ring. The snap ring is formed with forwardly and rearwardly extending tabs at its free ends which cooperate with a slot formed in the outer surface of the barrel and a recess formed in the inner surface of the nut which allows the nut to be assembled onto the barrel and removed therefrom without the use of a tool.
