The catheter can be configured to be positioned around a turn in a blood vessel having a radius of curvature no greater than 24 mm, and wherein, while the distal end of the catheter is distal of the turn, the lumen remains at least 70 percent patent while torque applied to the sidewall at the proximal end of the catheter is transmitted to the distal end.
