  • Patent number: 12642568
Abstract: Ablation catheters and systems include flexible catheter tips with at least one positioning element and ports for delivery of an ablative agent to a target tissue. The positioning element is used to define a treatment zone and position the catheter proximate the target tissue for ablation. Ablative fluid is delivered to the target tissue at subtherapeutic, therapeutic, or supratherapeutic doses over different time periods, with rest periods between each dose, to cause effective ablation of the target tissue.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 2, 2024
Date of Patent: June 2, 2026
    Assignee: Aqua Medical, Inc.
Inventors: Virender K. Sharma, Lloyd Mencinger, Scott McGill

  • Publication number: 20240415560
Abstract: Ablation systems and methods include an improved approach to generating heated vapor. The system includes a controller having a user interface and receives data indicative of a treatment time or desired energy level to be delivered during a treatment session, a pump in data communication with the controller, and a catheter having a bipolar electrode in fluid communication with the pump. The controller is configured to control a delivery of fluid and a generation of heated vapor based on the data indicative of the treatment time or desired level of energy to be delivered without modifying the flow rate of the fluid or the level of voltage and/or current of the electrical current based on data from sensors positioned in or on the catheter.

  • Publication number: 20210212745
Abstract: Ablation systems and methods include an improved approach to generating heated vapor. The vapor ablation system preferably has a controller having a user interface that receives data indicative of a time of a treatment session, a pump in data communication with the controller, and a catheter having an electrode and is in fluid communication with the pump. The controller is configured to control the pump to provide a fluid to the lumen of the catheter, cause an electrical current to be delivered to the electrode in order to heat the fluid in the lumen and convert the fluid to a heated vapor, control a delivery of the fluid and a generation of the heated vapor based on the data indicative of the time and without modifying the flow rate of the fluid or the level of voltage and/or current of the electrical current based on data from sensors positioned in or on the catheter.
