  • Patent number: 5551221
Abstract: A replaceable pick-up tooth assembly for a crop pick-up comprises a plurality of pick-up teeth integrally molded to and with a substantially C-shaped flexible mounting unit. The pick-up teeth have a greater height dimension in the direction of rotation of the raking pick-up, and taper in height dimension from a base end at the mounting unit and a tip opposite the base end. The thickness of the teeth in the lateral direction perpendicular to the direction of rotation is much smaller than the height dimension at the base end. This provides added strength in the direction of rotation yet permits flexibility in the lateral direction along the axis of rotation. The pick-up teeth rotate in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation and parallel to the direction of rotation, and are concave in the direction of rotation with a large radius of curvature to provide added efficiency and accuracy in pushing up crops. The C-shaped mounting unit snaps onto a mounting bar of a crop pick-up.

  • Patent number: 5269082
Abstract: The present invention provides a hand held, readily portable power sweeping tool. The tool includes an elongate boom having a power generation means disposed at one end thereof and a power sweeping means disposed at the other end. Power transmission means extends between the power generation means and the power sweeping means for transmitting power generated by the power generation means to the sweeping means. The sweeping means comprises a pair of drums mounted for rotation by the power transmission means, the drums including a plurality of pliant fins extending radially outwardly therefrom. In one embodiment of the invention, the sweeping means includes a support formed by mating two substantially identical drum members to each other end-to-end to form a support for a sweeper belt having a plurality of outwardly directed pliant fins.

  • Patent number: 5136832
Abstract: An improved, removable beater belt for a harvesting machine is disclosed. The improved belt comprises a carcass formed of a pliant material having a pair of free ends, each free end having a plurality of dovetail segments separated by a series of dovetail recesses. The dovetail segments on each free end are disposed such that when the free ends are connected the dovetail segments are interdigitated in the dovetail recesses. A retaining pin is slidably received within a series of mutually aligned holes extending transversely through the dovetail segments.

  • Patent number: 4841718
Abstract: An apparatus for conveying harvested grains to the platform of a combine from a crop pickup which has removed the grains from a field. The assembly includes two rapidly spinning rollers, the front one of which includes several flexible fins which pick grain off the pickup, and which also acts like a fan, creating an air current which tends to keep grain elevated and helps convey it rearwardly, and the rear one of which further helps convey the grain to the auger of the combine and also helps prevent the grain from being deposited on the ground. When used with a belt-style pickup, the fins of the front, finned roller extend between the flexible fingers of the pickup belt, thereby enabling the crop material to be thoroughly removed from the pickup.

  • Patent number: 4492074
Abstract: A grain pickup is designed for the picking up of windrowed grain for supply to a combine. One or more belts pass around two spaced parallel rollers which guide and propel the belt or belts. The rollers are supported and driven at either end by conventional equipment and in the center are supported by roller assemblies which are forced apart from one another and into the rollers so as to provide roller support and guidance. The roller assemblies can be loaded from the outside frame of the machine allowing adjustment of the pre-load on the rollers.
