Abstract: An optical fiber organizer which has at one face thereof:an inlet port and an outlet port through which fibers can pass substantially in the plane of that face;a through port that extends through that face to an opposite face of the organizer; andfiber storage means positioned with respect to the ports such that a fiber passing between the inlet and through ports or between the outlet and through ports is constrained by an outer surface of the storage means to a minimum bend radius at least equal to the critical bend radius of the fiber.

Abstract: An optical fibre organizer, which comprises:1. a plurality of inlet ports through which optical fibers can pass;2. an outlet port through which optical fibers can pass;3. an organizer drum positioned with respect to the ports such that fibers passing from the inlet ports to the outlet port are constrained by an outer surface of the drum to a minimum bend radius at least equal to the critical bend radius of the fibers;in which each inlet port has bend control means adjacent thereto to direct a fibre passing through that port towards the surface of the drum at a minimum bend radius at least equal to the critical bend radius of that fiber.

Abstract: A base for an optical fibre organizer, which comprises: a first passage along one longitudinal edge portion for incoming fibres; a second pasage along an opposite longitudinal edge portion for outgoing fibres; a plurality of first fibre guides separated from one another along the length of the base and extending from the first passage across the base towards the second passage where fibre in said guides are directed away from the plane of the base; a plurality of second fibre guides separated from one another along the length of the base and extending from the second passage across the base towards the first passage where fibres in said guides are directed away from the plane of the base.

Abstract: An optical fiber organizer for receiving an optical fiber from one direction and storing loops thereof in a plane substantially perpendicular to that direction, which comprises: a substantially cylindrical block having a port running from an end of the cylinder where it is substantially parallel to the axis of the cylinder to a side of the cylinder such that a fiber within it is directed around the circumference of the cylinder.
