  • Patent number: 6954695
Abstract: A system and a method for controlling a vehicle remotely over a network are disclosed. A vehicle is provided with a vehicle control module configured to transmit and receive network communications containing vehicle control data. In one embodiment, the vehicle control module is configured to transmit and receive network switched packets wirelessly. Additionally, the vehicle may comprise one or more cameras configured to transmit a two dimensional, three dimensional, or 360° panoramic view from the vehicle. The network comprises a user station, a server, and at least one vehicle to be controlled. The user station may comprise an operator booth that resembles the driving compartment of a vehicle. Alternatively, the user station may comprise a portable control device.

  • Patent number: 6505204
Abstract: A system (100) for coordinating engineering services (102) is provided. The system (100) uses a hyperdatabase (108) to encompass a CAE application library (122) for each CAE application program (120) used to provide the engineering services (102). Within the hyperdatabase (108), a program database (140) is configured for each CAE application library (122) to be encompassed. Each program database (140) has a plurality of datasets (142), each associated with a single CAE application record (134) in the CAE application library (122) and instantiating a one of a plurality of components (136). A data input routine (112) loads each dataset (142) with an identifier (150) uniquely identifying that dataset (142), query data (152) comprising attributes (148) of the instantiated component (136), graphic data (154) in a standardized format, and instantiation data (156) being the original CAE application record (134). A data extraction routine (116) extracts CAE product libraries (128) from the hyperdatabase (108).

  • Patent number: 5883807
Abstract: A schematic diagram (32) for a printed circuit board (34) is synthesized (20) from a physical design file (56) and a graphical symbol file (86). The printed circuit board (34) has a plurality of parts (36) at least one of which has a plurality of pins (38), those parts (36) and pins (38) being defined in the physical design file (56), from which physical attributes (60) are extracted (58). The finished schematic diagram (32) will include a plurality of symbols (40) at least one of which has a plurality of nodes (41), those symbols (40) and nodes (41) being contained in the graphical symbol file (86) from which graphical attributes (90) are extracted (88). These physical attributes (60) and graphical attributes (90) are integrated (26) along with operator determined position data (168) to produce schematic application page files (30). These schematic application page files (30) may then be processed by a schematic drawing program (156) to plot (158) the finished schematic diagram (32) on a visual medium.

  • Patent number: 5842181
Abstract: A remote hand-held data collection device associates time with charge accounts at the instant when and the place where work is performed. The device obtains a set of descriptive codes that describe a work assignment and accrues time during which the work assignment is performed. A new work assignment may be quickly described by updating only those descriptive codes that differ from the previously entered set. The device is capable of checking the validity of the descriptive codes by comparing them to a number of valid input codes stored in a memory. The work-related records are stored in a database that is eventually uploaded to a central compiling computer for formatting and processing. An edit feature allows the user to modify erroneous data in the database, and a comment feature allows the user to enter alphanumeric messages into the database.
