  • Publication number: 20240148540
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a liquid capture device, comprising a superhydrophobic expansion chamber, a user interface coupled to a first end of the superhydrophobic expansion chamber; and a collapsible bag coupled to a second end of the superhydrophobic expansion chamber, opposite the first end. The liquid capture device may be used to capture urine in reduced gravity environments.

  • Publication number: 20240148543
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a urine capture device, comprising a first user interface having a plurality of vent holes and a collapsible bag coupled to a second end of the first user interface, the collapsible bag configured with a superhydrophilic vane structure. The urine capture device may be optionally configured with a clip-in liquid self-propelling passage, including a second user interface and a superhydrophobic passage. The first user interface may be configured for use by male users and the second user interface may be configured for use by female users, thus making the urine capture device a unisex-enabled device.

  • Publication number: 20230405501
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a multiplexed phase separating inertial filter that is composed of helical through holes generating centrifugal separating forces. In one example, the inertial filter may be a planar porous material with an array of helical channels, each helical channel of the array of helical channels extending from a top surface of the porous material to a bottom surface of the porous material.
