  • Patent number: 7237468
Abstract: The invention relates to a projectile firing device used on a platform and comprising at least two tubes integral with a base. This device is characterized in that the base is mounted able to swivel on a turret around a first, substantially horizontal axis, such swiveling controlled by first drive means, the turret being able itself to pivot with respect to the platform around a second substantially vertical axis and being controlled by second drive means, the horizontal swiveling being made on either side of a median position in which the tubes are oriented with their axes substantially vertical.

  • Patent number: 6520062
Abstract: A system and method for generating acoustic and seismic signals to clear mines equipped with acoustic and/or seismic sensors includes at least one drum driven rotationally by a drive to which drum at least one weight is attached by a fastening device positioning the at least one weight at a distance from drum, the weight being intended to strike the ground periodically as the drum rotates in order to generate an acoustic and seismic signal whose period is the same as that of the striking period of the weight.

  • Patent number: 6002321
Abstract: A demining coil to be fastened to a demining vehicle, which coil comprises a magnetic core and wherein the ratio of length to the largest transversal dimension of the core of the coil is greater than or equal to 4. The core of the coil may be fluted in shape and/or magnetically laminated. A demining device utilizes a plurality of demining coils spaced in different directions to maximize the area of detection.

  • Patent number: 5808969
Abstract: A process and device for detecting objects, in particular mines, dispersed in an area of land. The process implements a plurality of acoustic transducers. After determination of an optimal operational frequency, a brief acoustic pulse is emitted into the ground and then successive temporal reversals of signals received by the transducers focus detection on a first object. At least two transducers for which the propagation times are roughly equal are located and at least one location direction, defined as the mean perpendicular of the segment joining the at least two transducers, is determined.

  • Patent number: 5615174
Abstract: A process and a device for detecting objects, in particular mines, dispersed in an area of land, or for determining propagation characteristics of an acoustic wave in the ground of an area of land. This process employs a plurality of acoustic transducers and reference targets distributed along borders of the area. After determining an optimal working frequency, a cartography of the propagation characteristics in the ground of the area of land is made, for example, by carrying out several temporal reversals, one after the other, of the signals received by the transducers so as to focus detection on the different reference targets. Objects are detected with the aid of this cartography by focusing detection by temporal reversal on an object and by searching for at least two transducers which have the lowest propagation time for the signal.

  • Patent number: 5458063
Abstract: An apparatus for activating a magnetic influenced mine from a distance includes a circuit arrangement for conserving power use and simulating the magnetic signature of a vehicle. The circuit arrangement includes a magnetic field generating coil connected to an electric feed circuit. The electric feed circuit is comprised of a voltage source, a circuit breaking element, and at least one capacitor connected to the terminals of the magnetic field generating coil. The circuit breaking element operates to alternately connect and disconnect the set of capacitors from the voltage source. By oscillating the current to the magnetic generating coil, the magnetic signature of a vehicle is simulated, and a mine is fooled into activation.
