  • Publication number: 20060264549
Abstract: A flame retardant comprises from 15 to 50 wt % of one or more ethylene including EVA, ethylene alkyl acrylate, EVACO, and ethylene alkyl acrylate carbon monoxide; from 5 to 50 wt % of a flame retardant agent; and from 15 to 70 wt % of a filler; based on the total weight of the composition.

  • Publication number: 20060154003
Abstract: A flexible printable multilayer structure for use as an advertising display, a banner, or as a cover for vehicles, building facades, structures, luggage or the like, is composed of substantially halogen-free materials and comprises: a substrate layer of paper, board, polymeric film or woven or non-woven fabric; a substantially impermeable intermediate layer of an ethylene copolymer at least on one face of the substrate layer; and an outer layer of a thermoplastic hydrophilic polymer on the intermediate layer(s). The outer layer of the thermoplastic hydrophilic polymer has a permeability corresponding to an MVTR (moisture vapor transmission rate) of 1,000-20,000 g/m2/day measured according to ASTM 96BW and a thickness t from 5 to 50 ?m. The intermediate layer has a thickness T from 50 to 500 ?m.

  • Publication number: 20060124892
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Phase Change Material (PCM) composition comprising a) from 20 to 80 wt % of a PCM; and b) from 20 to 80 wt % of one or more polymers chosen from the group consisting of b1) Very Low Density Polyethylene (VLDPE) having a density equal or lower than 0.910 g/cm3 measured according to ASTM 792; b2) Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) having a density equal or lower than 0.900 g/cm3 measured according to ASTM 792; b3) Styrene Ethylene Butadiene Styrene (SEBS) copolymers; and b4) Styrene Butadiene Styrene (SBS) copolymers. The PCM composition of the present invention can be used in applications where thermal management is needed, like for example in building, automotive, packaging, garments and footwear.

  • Publication number: 20050203232
Abstract: Disclosed are oriented films, tapes, and melt-spun fibers prepared from compositions comprising (a) at least one polypropylene polymer; and (b) at least one ethylene copolymer such as ethylene/vinyl acetate dipolymers, ethylene/vinyl acetate terpolymers, ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate dipolymers, ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate terpolymers, functionalized ethylene copolymers, ethylene/acid copolymers, and salts thereof. The films, tapes and fibers exhibit improved tensile properties such as tensile strength and elongation at break compared to nonmodified polypropylene compositions. Also disclosed are woven, nonwoven and knitted textiles prepared from the oriented melt-spun fibers described, and methods for producing slit film fibers of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20050203253
Abstract: Disclosed are films, tapes, and melt-spun fibers comprising or prepared from a composition comprising (a) at least one polyamide polymer; and (b) from about 0.1 to 20 weight % of at least one ethylene copolymer such as ethylene/vinyl acetate dipolymers, ethylene/vinyl acetate terpolymers, ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate dipolymers, ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate terpolymers, functionalized ethylene copolymers, ethylene/acid copolymers, and salts thereof. The films, tapes and fibers exhibit improved tensile properties such as tensile strength and elongation at break compared to nonmodified polyamide compositions. Also disclosed are nonwoven textiles comprising or prepared from the oriented melt-spun fibers.

  • Publication number: 20050112372
Abstract: Disclosed are films, tapes, and melt-spun fibers prepared from a composition comprising (a) at least one polyester polymer and (b) from about 1 to 30 weight % of at least one ethylene copolymer such as ethylene/vinyl acetate dipolymers, ethylene/vinyl acetate terpolymers, ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate dipolymers, ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate terpolymers, functionalized ethylene copolymers, ethylene/acid copolymers, and salts thereof. The films, tapes and fibers exhibit improved tensile properties such as tensile strength and elongation at break compared to non-modified polyester compositions. Also disclosed are textiles and articles prepared from the fibers described.
