  • Patent number: 7413532
Abstract: Exercise apparatus has a weight stack for opposing a given exercise motion. The weight stack has a first set of a plurality of primary weights vertically stacked on each other, a primary weight selector having a plurality of settings selectively controlling the number of weights to be lifted during the exercise motion, a second set of a plurality of secondary weights, and a secondary weight selector having a plurality of settings selectively controlling the number of secondary weights to be lifted during the exercise motion, the secondary weights providing supplemental incremental weight.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 23, 2004
Date of Patent: August 19, 2008
    Assignee: Brunswick Corporation
Inventors: Lon L. Monsrud, Charles J. Rosenow
  • Patent number: 7364535
Abstract: Exercise apparatus has a biased tolerance-compensating engagement system between a seat-supporting carriage and a tubular support column to provide zero clearance between adjustment rollers and the support column, to minimize wobble during user adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5647634
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a "fold-out" or integral child seat having a mechanism interconnecting a seatback member, a headrest member and a seat member for causing coordinated movement therebetween. When it is desired to deploy the integral child seat, the seatback member is moved to a tilted position and the headrest member is elevated while the seat member is moved to a lowered position for establishing an upright sitting position. Additionally, the integral child seat may be deployed to a reclined position wherein the seatback member is automatically moved to a second tilted position and the headrest member is moved to a second elevated position in coordination with the movement of the seat member to a second lowered position. As a result, movement of the integral child seat between its stowed and first and second deployed positions can be accomplished with relative ease and convenience to the person attempting such movement.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 7, 1995
Date of Patent: July 15, 1997
    Assignee: Douglas & Lomason Company
Inventors: Dwight W. Presser, Stephen C. Bruck, Lon L. Monsrud
