  • Patent number: 5115976
Abstract: A dispenser for agricultural chemicals generally has a small plastic plate defining an affixing enclosure for fitting the dispenser over or around branches, vines etc. The plate has an opening therein. A container for the chemicals having one unenclosed section is attachable to the plate with the unenclosed section substantially aligned with the opening in the plate for emitting the agricultural chemicals to the environment. The opening in the faceplate can be at least partially surrounded by a raised edge and this edge may contain a lip for securing the container to the plate via a snap or sliding fit. Certain other options include forming the faceplate with small nubs which jut outwards over the opening in the faceplate. When the container is attached to the plate, these nubs prevent the chemical within the container from being jostled loose and also limit the exposed surface area of the contained chemical.

  • Patent number: 4962170
Abstract: A method of forming a highly adsorptive polymer, which includes the steps of: (a) homogeneously mixing a solution of a monomer consisting exclusively of one or more types of polyunsaturated monomer, a monomer solvent, and an initiator, (b) polymerizing the monomers to form a polymer, wherein the monomer solvent is a solvent for the monomers and a non-swelling non-solvent for the polymer, and (c) removing the solvent from the polymer to form a dry powder.

  • Patent number: 4817868
Abstract: A dispenser for broadcasting a scent is particularly useful in connection with insect pheromones, a quantity of volatile pheromone carrying substance is packaged as a solid or gel in a hollow tube. A carrier can be provided for the tube, having a surface to which the tube is to be affixed with the longitudinal axis of the tube substantially parallel to the surface of the carrier, and the tube being disposed directly on the surface of the carrier. The carrier has at least one air circulation opening aligned perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tube and one or more stops preventing relative displacement of the tube and the carrier. Preferably, the carrier is a one piece integrally molded thermoplastic panel, with retaining clasps projecting from a planar body and adapted to bear diametrically inwardly on the tube. The length of the tube and dimensions of the carrier are such that the tube positively remains captive.
