  • Patent number: 10029812
Abstract: A biomass stack covering system for applying a tarpaulin sheet on a stack of biomass bales includes a motorized vehicle having at least one steerable and driven axle and an articulated arm affixed to and movable with respect to the motorized vehicle. The articulated arm is operably configured to extend horizontally and vertically and to pivot at a proximal end thereof with respect to the motorized vehicle. A tarpaulin dispensing apparatus is operably connected to a distal end of the articulated arm and is articulable thereabout. The dispensing apparatus is configured to rotationally retain a tarpaulin roll thereon and dispense a tarpaulin sheet from the tarpaulin roll onto the Bale stack by unrolling the tarpaulin sheet from the tarpaulin roll.

  • Patent number: 10028442
Abstract: An autonomous self-propelled grain cart for short-coupled operation with a grain harvesting combine includes a frame and an operator's cab affixed to the frame. The operator's cab includes interactive controls for steering, regulating propulsion, and utility operation by an operator. A plurality of drive units propel the cart over the surface of an agricultural field. A grain hopper includes a grain bin and an unloading apparatus. A power system is electrically communicative with the drive units and the grain hopper unloading apparatus. The grain cart also includes a position sensing system, and a control system. The control system includes a central processing unit having an associated memory, a display, a user input device, and an instruction set resident in the memory. The instruction set, when executed and integrated with the position sensing system, functions to autonomously maintain a close-coupled position with respect to an operating combine.

  • Patent number: 9642306
Abstract: An offset header for attachment to a grain harvester includes a body having a back and a bottom which form a collection trough extending the length of the body. The back further defines at a first proximal and an opening for receiving and for attachment to a grain conveyor of a grain harvester. A mechanism is located at the bottom for removing and collecting a crop from an agricultural field, and a transfer mechanism is operationally positioned in the collection trough to transf's er the collected crop toward the opening. A drive unit at a second distal end of the body supports and propels the second distal end of the body in cooperation with a grain harvester.

  • Patent number: 9578807
Abstract: A biomass harvesting system for harvesting agricultural plant growth from agricultural fields comprises a power source for providing mechanical and electric power to the system, a biomass accumulator for producing discrete units of accumulated biomass, a windrower for feeding biomass to the accumulator, a biomass quality analyzer for sensing and transmitting a set of quality characteristics of the biomass, a soil chemical analyzer for sensing and transmitting in real time soil chemical characteristics of the agricultural field soil, an active tracking system for identifying individual ones of the discrete units of accumulated biomass, and a central processing unit including a memory module storing an executable instruction set therein. The central processing unit executes the instruction set and integrates the sensed biomass quality characteristics and the sensed optimal quantity of biomass residue to remain on the field to determine a biomass quality index of the discrete units of accumulated biomass.

  • Patent number: 7877970
Abstract: A biomass harvesting system for harvesting agricultural plant growth from agricultural fields comprises in operative combination a power source for providing mechanical and electric power to the system, a biomass accumulator for producing discrete units of accumulated biomass and a windrower for feeding biomass to the biomass accumulator. The system also includes a biomass quality analyzer for determining a set of quality characteristics of the accumulated biomass, a dirt control system for controlling the quantity of dirt in the accumulated biomass, and a ground cover residue monitor for determining on optimal quantity of biomass residue to remain on the agricultural field. An active tracking system identifies individual ones of the discrete units of accumulated biomass.
