    Abstract: The system and method utilizes an apparatus for generating ozone having, preferably, a first electrode positioned within a channel in a second electrode. The first electrode is a tube made of dielectric material, having at least one electron gun positioned proximate an end thereof for firing electrons. In electrical communication with the electron gun is a rod, maintained in a tube also made of dielectric material, which acts to maintain a constant energy level through the length of the rod. Within the first electrode is an inert gas which, upon the firing of the electron gun, is formed into a plasma. When a feed gas (generally air) is passed between the first and second electrodes, the electrons and plasma cause the formation of ozone. The treated feed gas is then injected into the water to be treated. Preferably, the water is then centrifuged before introduction in the cooling tower system.

    Abstract: An ozone generator utilizes one or more cylindrical anodes having disposed centrally therein an elongated cylindrical dielectric tube. The dielectric tube is filled with an inert gas at low pressure and contains at a first end thereof beyond the encirclement of the anode a relatively short electrode. In a preferred embodiment, the electrode takes the shape of a cone having the small end thereof coupled through the first end of the dielectric envelope to a source of high energy alternating electric power. The large end of the cone is open and directed toward the far end of the dielectric envelope. Electrons are emitted from the electrode and focused down the length of the dielectric envelope, creating an electron haze which induces a variety of electron focusing phenomena in an annular reaction space between the dielectric envelope and the encircling anode.

    Abstract: A large scale, industrial system and method for dehydrating fruits, nuts or other produce. The system includes two long air tunnels which are placed end-to-end. Each air tunnel has a conveyor which is used to transport the produce through the air tunnel. As the produce exits one air tunnel, it is dropped from one conveyor onto the other, thus permitting the produce to be turned over before it enters the second air tunnel. Each air tunnel is divided into a number of separate air chambers in which the heated, circulating air is confined so as to reduce heat loss, thus increasing the energy efficiency of the system, and also providing for separate control of the air temperature and humidity levels in each air chamber. Countercirculation of air between adjacent air chambers aids in confining the air through the separate air chambers, as well as the use of resilient flaps which are used to enclose the ends of each air chamber through which the conveyor enters and exits.
