    Abstract: Herein-described are various methods for making a vaccine that are made of re-assembled virus like particles (VLP). First, the VLPs are disassembled into encapsidation intermediate populations. Each encapsidation intermediate population undergoes, for instance, chemical conjugation of unique peptide or nucleic moieties to form separate populations. Thereafter, a predetermined amount of each of the several (one or more) different encapsidation intermediates from the different populations is mixed and joined, forming intact VLPs, surrounding a nucleic acid core, that are composed of different encapsidation intermediate such that the reassembled VLP displays more than one peptide or nucleic acid. The nucleic acid can function either as a scaffold alone or can be engineered for the expression of an immunomodulatory protein in a eukaryotic cell.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus involves selectively relieving the load from the rearmost wheels of a trailer to shorten the effective wheel base of the trailer. When the effective wheel base is shortened, off-tracking of the trailer during turning is reduced. The load may relieved while the trailer and vehicle are traveling at, for example, less than a first speed, with the vehicle turning at least at a first angle. The axle may be reloaded when the vehicle speed is increased to a second speed above the first speed and the vehicle is turning at an angle which is less than the first angle.

    Abstract: A magnetic fluid seal is provided located in an L-shaped holder for defining the location of the seal relative to the shaft and bore. The magnetic seal is located inside the knee of the L-shaped holder, with a small magnetic fluid filled gap between the end of the magnetic seal and the fixed shaft. Immediately below the pieces and magnet of the magnetic seal is a gasket which provides for an airtight seal between the edge of the L-shaped holder and the outer wall or rotor. The entire assembly is held reliably in place by a shield which is typically press-fitted in place.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, an auxiliary processing device (connected to the internal bus side of the phone) is provided with means to process the digital voice information before sending it uplink or to the CODEC. This is accomplished without changing the position of the incoming voice field.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for transferring data between telephony communications lines having different frame transmission rates. A downlink data frame according to a first protocol (e.g. a ROLMlink frame) is transmitted, at a first data rate, from a private branch exchange (PBX) to a telephone's network interface. One or more fields of data from this frame are collected in shift register which is internal to the interface. After collection, the data is injected into a downlink data frame of the telephone's internal protocol (e.g. a GCI frame), which is being transmitted on the telephone side of the interface at a second data rate (different from the first data rate). Simultaneously with the injecting, one or more fields of data from an uplink data frame of the telephone's internal protocol are shifted into the same register for later injection into an uplink data frame, of the external protocol, destined for the PBX.
