  • Publication number: 20170317633
Abstract: A motor has a rotor that rotates in response to one or more alternating current input signals. A position sensor is adapted to generate a substantially saw-tooth waveform indicative of a position of the rotor. A primary processing module or data processor is capable of providing position data and speed data for the rotor based on the substantially saw-tooth waveform. A notch filter can reject one or more selected frequency components in the substantially saw-tooth waveform to reduce distortion off the substantially saw-tooth waveform that would otherwise tend to cause inaccuracy in the provided position data and speed data.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to floating-point operations with down-conversion. In some embodiments, a floating-point unit is configured to perform fused multiply-addition operations based on first and second different instruction types. In some embodiments, the first instruction type specifies result in the first floating-point format and the second instruction type specifies fused multiply addition of input operands in the first floating-point format to generate a result in a second, lower-precision floating-point format. For example, the first format may be a 32-bit format and the second format may be a 16-bit format. In some embodiments, the floating-point unit includes rounding circuitry, exponent circuitry, and/or increment circuitry configured to generate signals for the second instruction type in the same pipeline stage as for the first instruction type. In some embodiments, disclosed techniques may reduce the number of pipeline stages included in the floating-point circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20170188033
Abstract: A method and apparatus of reusing reference data for video decoding are disclosed. Motion information associated with motion vectors for coded blocks processed after the current block are derived without storing decoded residuals associated with the coded blocks. Reuse information regarding reference data required for Inter prediction or Intra block copy of the coded blocks is determined based on the motion information. If the current block is coded in the Inter prediction mode or the Intra block copy mode, whether required reference data for the current block are in an internal memory is determined and the reference data are fetched from an external memory to the internal memory if the required reference data are not stored in the internal memory. The reference data in the internal memory is managed according to the reuse information to reduce data transferring between the external memory and the internal memory.

  • Patent number: 9595907
Abstract: A current measurement module is adapted to measure an observed current level for the inverter. A data processor or mode controller accesses a stored representation of first current level versus rotor speed output at which a total harmonic distortion level is less than threshold total harmonic distortion level. The data processor or mode controller enables the inverter to use SVPWM (space vector pulse width modulation) if the observed current level is less than the first current level for the measured or determined rotor speed. Further, the data processor or mode controller enables the inverter to use DPWM (discontinuous pulse width modulation) if the observed current level is greater than or equal to the first current level for the measured or determined rotor speed.
