  • Publication number: 20140320026
Abstract: A lighting device includes a lighting unit, a control unit, and a brightness adjusting unit connected between the control unit and the lighting unit. The brightness adjusting unit includes an operational amplifier and a number of branch circuits parallel connected between the control unit and a positive input terminal of the operational amplifier. Each branch circuit includes a diode and a photoresistor. A reference voltage is applied to an inverting input terminal of the operational amplifier. The operational amplifier compares a voltage on the positive input terminal and the reference voltage, and output a voltage via an output terminal to the lighting unit according to a comparing result. The control unit further controls the diode to switch between a turned on state and a turned off state to adjust the sensitivity of the lighting device in response to user input.

  • Publication number: 20130291124
Abstract: A method for managing a plurality of files in a communication network having a plurality of clients includes a server receiving (502) metadata associated with a secured file stored in a virtual data drive of a first client. The server also receives (504) data segments associated with the file from the virtual data drive of the first client. The server stores the metadata and data segments associated with the file at the server. The server generates (506) a first representation of the file based on the received metadata and data segments associated with the file and sends (508) the first representation of the file to the plurality of clients. Next, the server receives (510) a request from a second client for at least one data segment of the file. The server authenticates the request based on a plurality of access rights of a user of the second client and sends (512) the at least one data segment of the file to the second client when the request is authenticated.

  • Patent number: 8510848
Abstract: A method and a system for managing one or more files in a communication network are provided. The system includes a server, a first client, and a second client. When the first client places a file in a virtual data drive of the first client, data segments and metadata associated with the file are uploaded at the server. The server generates a first representation of the file. The server then sends the first representation of the file to the first and second clients. The second client stores the first representation of the file in its local storage. The second client can then send a request to the server to access the file based on the first representation of the file. The requested file is sent to the second client by the server. The sent file is not cached by the second client, if the file is a secured file.

  • Patent number: 7653489
Abstract: A method of measuring a dry gas flow from hydrocarbon wells. The hydrocarbon wells produce a stream which contains liquids and natural gas. The method comprises providing an differential flow measurement device (orifice) located at a well site containing the hydrocarbon wells. The method further includes testing the stream for gas composition and physical characteristics. Additionally, the method comprises measuring a static temperature (T) of the stream, measuring a static pressure (Ps), and measuring a pressure differential (dP) in the differential flow measurement device (orifice). The method includes computing the liquid-gas ratio (LGR) of the stream, computing the wet gas flow rate (Qw) of the stream, computing a first dry gas flow rate (Qd1) and a second dry gas flow rate and utilizing a iterative process to correct and obtain the dry gas flow rate. The data may be transmitted to another location.

  • Publication number: 20080319195
Abstract: The invention relates to a new process for preparing benzimidazole derivatives having a chiral sulfoxide group in enantiomerically pure form or in a form in which one of the two enantiomers is present in an increased quantity over the other enantiomer. The invention likewise relates to a process for preparing the salts of the individual enantiomers of the benzimidazole derivatives with a chiral sulfoxide group. The invention relates in particular to a process for preparing the S-enantiomer of omeprazole (also known as esomeprazole) and the salts thereof, more particularly the zinc salt of the S-enantiomer of omeprazole. In the new process a prochiral sulfide is oxidized in an organic solvent with an oxidizing agent in the presence of a titanium(IV) complex.

  • Publication number: 20050138464
Abstract: A method and system of managing spatially related defects on a data storage media surface in a data storage device includes operations of identifying defect locations on the media surface, determining whether the location of an identified defect is within a predetermined window of another identified defect location on the media surface, if the location is within the predetermined window, characterizing the defects in the window as a scratch. A scratch-tracking table is then generated having a unique entry for each scratch and a start index and an end index for each scratch. Also, a scratch index table is generated that lists each and every defect location on the media along with its defect index and the scratch index associating the particular defect with an identified scratch. These two tables are then utilized to pad the scratches.
