Abstract: A method for video playing includes in response to detecting that the client displays a preset page, obtaining first configuration information of at least one target video associated with the preset page and local cache information of the client, wherein the first configuration information comprises identification information of the target video, and the local cache information of the client comprises identification information of a video that has been cached by the client. The method further includes determining a video cache state of the client according to the first configuration information and the local cache information, wherein the video cache state is configured to indicate a cache progress of the at least one target video by the client, downloading at least one target video whose caching is not completed according to the video cache state, and in response to a user operation, playing the at least one target video.
