The method includes the following steps: (1) providing a capacity-degraded lithium-ion battery; (2) providing a capacity recovery agent, the capacity recovery agent including a lithium iodide and an organic solvent, and the organic solvent being used to dissolve the lithium iodide; (3) injecting the capacity recovery agent into the capacity-degraded lithium-ion battery; (4) enabling the capacity recovery agent to react inside the lithium-ion battery; and (5) pouring out the liquid mixture inside the reacted lithium-ion battery and injecting an electrolyte into the lithium-ion battery.
