The backlight module includes a plate structure comprising a base plate and a side plate connected to the base plate, the base plate and the side plate surrounding an accommodating space, the base plate or the side plate comprising a first plate body provided with a first slot; an optical film disposed within the accommodating space; and a light-emitting assembly comprising a circuit board and a plurality of light-emitting elements electrically connected to the circuit board, each of the light-emitting elements being at least partially disposed in a respective one of the first slots, and a light-emitting surface of each of the light-emitting elements facing the optical film, and the circuit board being located on a side of the first plate body facing away from the optical film.
