  • Patent number: 11820877
Abstract: Storage-stable two-component polyurethane or polyisocyanurate spray foam compositions are disclosed, said compositions comprising: (a) an A-side component comprising one or more polyisocyanate and one or more catalyst; and (b) a B-side component comprising one or more polyol; and further comprising one or more hydrohaloolefin blowing agent in either the A-side component or the B-side component, or in both; wherein both the A-side component and the B-side component, separately, generate less than 600 ppm of fluoride ion after two weeks of aging at 50° C.

  • Patent number: 11786891
Abstract: Quaternary ammonium tribromides and quaternary phosphonium tribromides are recovered from an organic solvent by washing with an aqueous hydrazine solution. The hydrazine reacts to form nitrogen, hydrobromic acid and a quaternary ammonium or quaternary phosphonium monobromide. The hydrobromic acid and quaternary ammonium or quaternary phosphonium migrate to the aqueous phase, thereby effecting the removal of the tribromides from the organic solvent. The hydrobromic acid can be neutralized with a quaternary ammonium or quaternary phosphonium hydroxide to produce a quaternary ammonium or quaternary phosphonium monobromide. The monobromides produced can be reacted with elemental bromine to regenerate a tribromide brominating agent.
