  • Publication number: 20180150070
Abstract: An inspection assembly for a machine is provided. The inspection assembly includes a portable computing device. The inspection assembly further includes a controller associated with the portable computing device. The controller is configured to determine a set of activities related to inspection of the machine to be performed by an operator using the portable computing device. The set of activities are related to inspection of machine parts during a physical walk around the machine performed by the operator. The controller is configured to determine if the operator has completed performing the set of activities. The controller is configured to selectively augment a set of controls for operating the machine on the portable computing device based on the determination of the completion of the set of activities.

  • Publication number: 20180031836
Abstract: A pair of smart glasses having interfering light filtering includes a glasses frame defining a horizontal view path and a semi-transparent display supported on the glasses frame and positioned in the horizontal view path. A projection mechanism is supported on the glasses frame and has a projection lens positioned above the horizontal view path. The projection mechanism is configured for projecting virtual content on the semi-transparent display, with an outer surface of the projection lens facing a rear facing surface of the semi-transparent display. A semi-transparent polarized shield is supported on the glasses frame and is positioned below the horizontal view path, with an inner surface of the semi-transparent polarized shield facing the outer surface of the projection lens. The semi-transparent polarized shield positioned to filter interfering light passing through the semi-transparent polarized shield and toward the projection lens.

  • Publication number: 20120101863
Abstract: A method is disclosed for using information related to the service history of a power-train component. The method may include using a machine-management system with at least one information processor to acquire information related to loads experienced by the power-train component during a first period, the first period occurring before a disassembly procedure involving disassembly of the power-train component from a power train. The method may also include employing the machine-management system and the acquired information related to loads experienced by the power-train component during the first period to perform one or more tasks in connection with use of the power-train component after the disassembly procedure.
