  • Publication number: 20040146831
Abstract: A delivery system for administering a metered dose of dental sensitivity product to a tooth includes a reservoir sized to contain a volume of the dental sensitivity product and suited to dispensing the dental sensitivity product in small quantities while maintaining stability of the dental sensitivity product. The system further includes delivery structure in communication with the reservoir and configured to deliver the metered dose of dental sensitivity product. In an exemplary embodiment, the delivery structure includes a cannula and operates to deliver the dental sensitivity product as a spray to the affected tooth when actuated by a user.

  • Patent number: 6594391
Abstract: An image or other information signal having a texture is analyzed along perceptual dimensions such as directionality, symmetry, regularity and type of regularity. A wavelet decomposition or other type of filtering operation is first applied to the information signal, in order to generate oriented subbands. Texture-related features, e.g., coarse features, vertical edges, horizontal edges, corners, etc., are then extracted from the subbands. The extracted features are then used to characterize the above-noted perceptual dimensions of the texture. A classification process may subsequently be used to classify the texture as directional, symmetric, regular and/or having a particular regularity type, e.g., a small, medium or large regularity, based on comparison with established thresholds. Advantageously, the classification process can also be used to determine the replicability of the texture.

  • Patent number: 6526176
Abstract: Processing of quadtree data structures is significantly improved with the use of an indexing that is arranged to insure that the index value of a node in column/row i and column/row j differs from the index value of a node in column/row k and row/column i by a value that is constant. With such an indexing arrangement, no indexing information, or pointer information, needs to be stored. Moreover, traversal from any node to any other node can be accomplished with a single calculation followed by a single traversal which, in the context of this disclosure, is considered to be a single step.
