  • Publication number: 20240098654
Abstract: This application describes methods and apparatus to allocate uplink (UL) power dynamically across multiple parallel radio frequency links for wireless devices. The wireless device sets an initial maximum transmit power level (MTPL) for each UL radio link of multiple radio links used for UL traffic based on a duty cycle prediction for the respective UL radio link. The wireless device adjusts the initial MTPL for each UL radio link based on a predicted data throughput for the UL radio link relative to a total predicted data throughput for all UL radio links. The adjusted MTPL for each UL radio link can be also reduced when the UL radio link uses UL multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmission via multiple antenna ports, e.g., by apportioning the adjusted MTPL among the multiple antenna ports of the UL radio link equally.

  • Publication number: 20230337151
Abstract: A wireless communication device receives an average transmission power limit for a time period, and determines a first MTPL for a first time of the time period by setting the first MTPL to the average transmission power limit. The wireless communication device then transmits a signal at the first time using a first transmission power not to exceed the first MTPL. If the first transmission power is less than the first MTPL, then the wireless communication device determines residual transmission power based on a difference between the first MTPL and the first transmission power. The wireless communication device determines a second MTPL for a second time of the time period by adding the residual transmission power to the first MTPL. The wireless communication device then transmits a signal at the second transmission power not to exceed the second MTPL.

  • Publication number: 20220189320
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for controlling an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarm network including receiving, at a control terminal, an operator input defining a plurality of network performance directives, constructing a network control model representing the plurality of network performance directives, decomposing the network control model into a plurality of sub-models, generating, via the control terminal, a distributed UAV control model corresponding to each of the distributed sub-models, transmitting the generated distributed UAV control models to each of a plurality of UAVs of the UAV swarm network, executing, at each of the plurality of UAVs, at least one of the distributed UAV control models, and changing, responsive to the execution of the distributed UAV control models, an operating condition of at least one of the plurality of UAVs to satisfy the network performance directives.

  • Publication number: 20220116789
Abstract: Method and systems of sharing a frequency spectrum between a primary wireless network and a secondary wireless network coexisting with the primary wireless network are provided. At a node of the secondary network, at a bottom of a protocol stack integrated between a plurality of antennas and upper layers of the protocol stack, a beamforming scheme is determined for transmission to scheduled users of the secondary network. Using this technology, a newly-deployed wireless network can access a spectrum band based on cognitive beamforming without mutual temporal exclusion, i.e., without interrupting the ongoing transmissions of coexisting wireless networks on the same bands, and without cross-technology communication.
