Publication number: 20230001415Abstract: An apparatus and method for isolating bacterial particles in a sample using a container with material in temporary fluid blocking position to lower orifice in the container, a separation medium having an electrical conductivity lower than and physical density greater than that of the sample above the material that supports a sample concentrate after passing through the separation medium when exposed to centrifugal force, a heating element for liquefying the material to permit flow into a chamber past an electrode array that attracts and holds subject particles. The system allows rapid detection and isolation of particles from samples from animal, human, environmental sites, a bio-industrial reactor or a food or beverage production facility requiring relatively small volumes, short incubation times resulting in structurally intact particles for further analysis. Testing may be completed in a single unit that requires decreased technician manipulation, fewer steps and a decrease in cross-contamination.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2022Publication date: January 5, 2023Applicant: AINCOBIO LLCInventors: Lorenzo D'Amico, Peter Russell Charles Gascoyne

Patent number: 9381962Abstract: The van can be produced by a van modification wherein a portion of the bed in front of the rear doors and behind the rear wheels is removed. A pan is installed; the pan floor lies below the space occupied by the portion removed. A shelf is installed above the pan floor to define a suitcase rack. Seats are installed upon the shelf. An oversized windshield is installed. A seat grouping is arranged behind the driver and below the shelf. A seating row is arranged in front of the shelf row and immediately behind the grouping and disposed above the grouping and below the shelf. A seating row is arranged immediately in front of the shelf row and immediately behind the row of seats arranged immediately behind the grouping. The row arranged immediately in front of the shelf is below the shelf and above the seats immediately behind the grouping.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2014Date of Patent: July 5, 2016Assignee: DUR-A-BUS COACH BUILDERS LTD.Inventor: Lorenzo D'Urso

Patent number: 6412352Abstract: A non invasive method and apparatus is provided to measure the mass flow rate of a multi-phase fluid. An accelerometer is attached to a pipe carrying a multi-phase fluid. Flow related measurements in pipes are sensitive to random velocity fluctuations whose magnitude is proportional to the mean mass flow rate. An analysis of the signal produced by the accelerometer shows a relationship between the mass flow of a fluid and the noise component of the signal of an accelerometer. The noise signal, as defined by the standard deviation of the accelerometer signal allows the method and apparatus of the present invention to non-intrusively measure the mass flow rate of a multi-phase fluid.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2000Date of Patent: July 2, 2002Assignee: Bechtel BWXT Idaho, LLCInventors: Robert P. Patent number: 5452600Abstract: A portable vapor generator is disclosed that can provide a controlled source of chemical vapors, such as, narcotic or explosive vapors. This source can be used to test and calibrate various types of vapor detection systems by providing a known amount of vapors to the system. The vapor generator is calibrated using a reference ion mobility spectrometer. A method of providing this vapor is described, as follows: explosive or narcotic is deposited on quartz wool, placed in a chamber that can be heated or cooled (depending on the vapor pressure of the material) to control the concentration of vapors in the reservoir. A controlled flow of air is pulsed over the quartz wool releasing a preset quantity of vapors at the outlet.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1993Date of Patent: September 26, 1995Assignee: Lockheed Idaho Technologies CompanyInventors: John P.
