  • Patent number: 10351742
Abstract: The invention provides a process for the production of a pressure sensitive adhesive, comprising dissolving a particulate solid MQ silicone resin having a bulk density in the range 0.4-0.9 g/cm3 in a volatile solvent, and dissolving a polydiorganosiloxane having a viscosity of 0.1 to 40,000 Pa·s at 25° C. in the volatile solvent before, simultaneously with or after dissolving the solid MQ silicone resin. The process of the present invention allows the production of a pressure sensitive adhesive in a solvent different from the solvent in which the MQ silicone resin was prepared.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 19, 2016
Date of Patent: July 16, 2019
    Assignee: DOW SILICONES CORPORATION
Inventors: Janelle L. Brown, Julie Lyn Cook, Leon Neal Cook, Elizabeth Kelley, Timothy Paul Mitchell, Lori Jean Sutton, Stephanie Thompson

  • Patent number: 8470925
Abstract: Aqueous emulsions of a silicone resin are disclosed that provide a solid silicone resineous coating upon removing water from a film of the emulsion. The silicone resin emulsions are useful for treating various substrates for imparting water resistance/repellence and improving wear/weather protective properties. In particular, they are useful for rendering mineral-based building materials water-resistant, and also as binders in paints.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 27, 2012
Date of Patent: June 25, 2013
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: Yihan Liu, Jeffrey Rastello, Lori Jean Sutton-Poungthana
