Patent number: 8407307Abstract: A method of providing flight information to a receiving node in data communication with a server. A server receives from a sending node data (1) permitting identification of a flight of interest and (2) permitting identification of the receiving node. The data received at the server causes delivery to the receiving node of a message that includes a logon key that grants access by the receiving node to a data source that provides real-time dynamic information as to position of the flight of interest.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2007Date of Patent: March 26, 2013Assignee: Flightview, Inc.Inventors: Lorraine Flynn, Mary Flynn, James Steinberg

Patent number: 7966122Abstract: A system and method for providing to a user a candidate list of flight plans that specify one or more planned routes of flight from one location to another location, such routes satisfying certain criteria. These criteria include ranking the candidate list of flight plans according to the probability that the flight plan may be allowed or cleared by a controlling authority based on historic cleared flight plans; further qualifying this list by considering only candidate flight plans cleared during specified weather conditions; or specified time periods; or requested speed and/or altitude and/or aircraft type of flight parameters. Various embodiments include providing the candidate list of flight plans to the user by means of a communication system that is composed of a combination of a wide-area network, a wireless network or the internet. Additionally, an embodiment includes providing the flight plan data to a global positioning system (GPS) of a user.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2006Date of Patent: June 21, 2011Assignee: FlightView Inc.Inventors: Lorraine Flynn, Mary Flynn, James Steinberg

Patent number: 7706968Abstract: A method is provided for characterizing traffic behavior at an airport. Scheduled and real-time flight information for the airport is obtained and used to determine, over a selected interval of time, flight delay information. The flight delay information is used to characterize an extent of delay for the airport. Various embodiments characterize traffic behavior at a plurality of distinct airports and traffic behavior of a selected airline, both at an airport and at distinct airports.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2006Date of Patent: April 27, 2010Assignee: FlightView Inc.Inventors: Lorraine Flynn, Mary Flynn, James Steinberg

Publication number: 20090118998Abstract: A computer-based method of displaying real time flight information for aircraft. includes retrieving data previously stored for which there is real time flight information and causing display, on a screen of a client computing device, automatically and repetitively of a plurality of views of a geographic map. Such views collectively display all viewable flights in a pre-specified category. The embodiment additionally includes causing display simultaneously on the screen of the client computing device, with the geographic map, of a list of flights in the pre-specified category. The list scrolls automatically at least to the extent necessary to cause repetitive display of the entire list. Additionally, contents of the list are coordinated with each of the views.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2008Publication date: May 7, 2009Applicant: FLIGHTVIEW INC.Inventors: Terry Chau, Lorraine Flynn, Mary Flynn, James Steinberg, Michael H. Patent number: 7065443Abstract: A method and system estimate, in real time, the amount of any delay in departure of an aircraft flight from an airport. Various embodiments include receiving in a first computer process a conditions input that includes at least one member of a set including departure airport conditions, arrival airport conditions, and fleet conditions; and estimating in a second computer process the amount of delay based on the conditions input. User interfaces and data structures are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2003Date of Patent: June 20, 2006Assignee: RLM Software, Inc.Inventors: Lorraine Flynn, Mary Flynn, James Steinberg

Patent number: 5223699Abstract: Each potential user of a telecommunications network is assigned a single credit card containing at least first and second authorization codes, the first code being indicative of status as an authorized user of the telecommunications network and the second code being indicative of status as an authorized purchaser of goods and/or services, as in a conventional credit card. The authorization codes are preferably contained on the card in both human readable form, such as embossed lettering, and in machine readable form, such as magnetic encoding. The validity of the first authorization code is verified to permit access to the telecommunications network. After the telecommunications network has been used to complete a call, billing information including the first billing code that has been recorded locally is transmitted via the telecommunications network to a remote data base in which the second billing code associated with the first billing code is automatically determined in data processing equipment.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 1990Date of Patent: June 29, 1993Assignee: AT&T Bell LaboratoriesInventors: Lorraine Flynn, Chester J.
