  • Publication number: 20210047068
Abstract: This disclosure provides new closure and finish structures suited for small and light-weight carbonated beverage packaging that provide surprisingly improved carbonation retention and greater shelf life, while still achieving light weight. This closure and finish presented herein are particularly suited to small PET containers for carbonated beverages, for example less than or about 400 mL and provide good carbonation retention and shelf life.

  • Publication number: 20040112919
Abstract: The invention relates to a closure with integrated ventilation, comprising a pouring nozzle (1), a closing seal (2), which may be torn off and which closes the flow passage, fixing elements (3) for an essentially sealed connection with a container opening and ventilation tongues (4), extending radially inwards on a section of the pouring nozzle (1), lying axially on the inside of the closing seal (2). According to the invention, a closure with integrated ventilation in which the known positive pouring properties of closures provided with tongues is retained, whilst also providing a rapid pouring of liquids avoiding an uneven glugging of the pouring fluid caused by a corresponding incremental intake of air bubbles into the container may be achieved, whereby the ventilation elements are comprised partly of tongues (4) extending radially into the flow passage, which are separated by slots and partly of openings (5) in the wall of the flow passage (2) in the region between the tongues and the closing seal (2).

  • Patent number: 6450357
Abstract: The present invention relates to a plastics lid of a container with a plastics closure fitted in an aperture of the lid, in particular a combination of the plastics lid (1) of a container and a plastics closure (2, 20) which is composed of a lower closure portion (2) with a closure foot (3), which can be fitted in an aperture of the lid (1), and a screw cap (20) which can be screwed on a pouring spout (17) of the lower closure portion (2), wherein the edge of the lid aperture is provided with an annular circumferential web (4) facing towards the outside of the lid, which is in engagement with the closure foot (3) fitted in the lid aperture, and closure foot (3) is configured U-shaped in cross-section, and grips around the web (4) with both U-arms (5, 6).

  • Patent number: 5222479
Abstract: A self-contained portable personal breathing apparatus that has a casing housing a canister containing an oxygen evolving chemical. The casing is disposed inside a cover which is disposed inside a bag. The cover and the casing form a thermal insulating pocket between them, and with the cover material and the casing material, also made of thermally insulating material, a triple layer of thermal insulation is formed around the canister to protect oxygen produced therein from the heat of reaction of the chemical in the canister. A heat exchanger is situated atop the canister to further cool oxygen before inhalation, and breathing tube extends from the bag to the user for channeling exhaled breath and oxygen.

  • Patent number: 4419211
Abstract: In an instrument with a sensor for gas analysis which, based on the principle underlying its measurement, indicates the partial pressure of the gas constituent to be measured, the indication of the change in the partial pressure of the gas constituent is affected by changes in the atmospheric pressure. Such instruments must be calibrated at mean sea level and adjusted for changes in height at the measuring site.In order to eliminate the need for adjustment or recalibration, there is included in the instrument a pressure-sensitive module to compensate for the effects of the atmospheric pressure on the sensor. The module compensates the measured value directly or by means of a microprocessor with regard to the prevailing pressure conditions.

  • Patent number: 4197841
Abstract: Exposed components, including an exhalation valve, of a respirator mask are protected from extremely cold temperatures by a bag containing them, with its open end held in sealing engagement with the portion of the mask adjacent the components by means of a flexible collar. The bag is provided with an air inlet and with air outlets isolated from the inlet for escape of exhaled air from the bag. When one of the mask components in the bag is a filter, its inlet side is covered by an air-permeable base portion of the bag, and the rest of the bag is made of air-impermeable material, with the junction of the two parts of the bag sealed against the filter.
