  • Patent number: 8100056
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a machine processing sheet material. The processing machine has at least one printing or coating group and a cylinder that is coupled to a direct drive and is decoupled mechanically from a main drive acting on a gear train of a plurality of sheet transport cylinders and that can be driven in a given way at least relative to the sheet-guiding cylinders. The cylinder having an associated inking group with an inking group roller that can be driven by the main drive and gear train. Printing contact in a contact zone of the cylinder carrying the printing form with an adjacent rubber blanket cylinder is cancelled for cleaning. The inking group roller of the inking group is separated on a drive side from the sheet transport cylinders driven by the main drive and gear train. The inking group roller is coupled on the drive side to the cylinder carrying the printing form.

  • Publication number: 20100199867
Abstract: A sheet-fed printing press having an inking unit with ink applicator rolls for supplying ink to a plate cylinder and a damping unit having a damping solution applicator roll for supplying damping solution to the plate cylinder. The ink applicator rolls and damping solution rolls each are movable between thrown on and off positions relative to the plate cylinder. A control device is provided for predetermining a number of de-inking sheets that can be imprinted with an ink image while the ink applicator rolls and damping solution applicator rolls are in a thrown off position without ink being supplied from the inking unit. The control device is carried out as a function of prepress data or inline measured data. The printing press may also include a lacquering unit which is operable in thrown on or off positions during passage of said predetermined number of de-inking sheets.

  • Publication number: 20080000376
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for controlling a machine for processing sheet material that has at least one individually driven cylinder. The method involves interrupting a pressure contact in a contact zone between a plate cylinder 10 as a directly driven cylinder and a neighboring rubber blanket cylinder 8. The plate cylinder 10 is then turned by the direct drive from its particular angular position into an angular position in which a first printing plate located on the plate cylinder 10 can be removed. The first printing plate is then removed from the plate cylinder 10 and a second printing plate is brought up and secured to the plate cylinder 10. The plate cylinder 10 with the second printing plate is then turned by the direct drive into an angular position appropriate for the printing process.

  • Publication number: 20070289465
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for controlling a processing machine for sheet-like material having at least one cylinder that can be driven individually and that carries a printing form. The method involves, inter alia, eliminating the pressurized printing contact between the plate cylinder 10 and adjacent rubber blanket cylinder 8 and for cleaning processes the inking unit rollers are separated on the drive side from the main drive and gear train of the sheet-guiding cylinder 6 and temporarily coupled with the directly driven plate cylinder 10. The plate cylinder 10 and inking unit rollers are driven at a first rotational speed and the rubber blanket cylinder 8 and the adjacent sheet-guiding cylinder 6 are driven at a second rotational speed by the main drive and gear train.
