  • Patent number: 11579594
Abstract: A method for modifying a program of an industrial automation component, wherein the program includes a plurality of program elements, where the program is structured in units, a unit includes a group of program elements and can include both published program elements having an interface that can be referenced by the program elements of other units and unpublished program elements, and where a checksum is calculated and is assigned to the unit using the interfaces, such that if at least one program element of the version of the unit stored in the engineering system is modified, then the modified checksum is compared with the previous checksum version present in the automation component, and only the modified unit is transferred if the checksums match such that consistency of the program is maintained and the software updateable more quickly.

  • Publication number: 20120117548
Abstract: A method of annotating a specification of a programmable logic controller is provided that includes displaying a graphical element in a first graphical language for programming the programmable logic controller, and displaying a comment associated with the graphical element. A method for converting a specification for a programmable logic controller in a first language to a second language is provided that includes converting a first instruction in the first language to a second instruction in the second language, and converting a first comment associated with the first instruction to a second comment associated with the second instruction. A computer-readable recording medium is provided.

  • Patent number: 7581183
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for graphical presentation of objects and/or technical processes on a screen as well as to a system for implementing the method. In some cases different views may be frequently selected, and these views may be presented in different display windows. To edit the totality of views or subsequently look at them, a frequent change of view may be required. Such changes of view may be cumbersome and tedious and take time. To resolve this problem, the display area (3) is equipped with a least one element, (4) which can be activated by an input device (5). Activating the element (4) expands or contracts the contents of the display area (3) by a graphical object (6). In this way a frequent change of view is avoided, which provides ergonomic benefits to a user working with the graphics.

  • Patent number: 7441191
Abstract: A method is provided for graphical presentation of objects and/or technical processes on a screen, as well as an editor implementing the method being provided. A tooltip appears when a pointing device such as a computer mouse for example uses its mouse pointer to remain for a predetermined time over a predetermined section of the display area, and that the tooltip graphically presents at least a part of the object and/or of the process in a modified way compared to that shown in the display area. In this way, with the aid of the tooltip, the same object and/or the same technical process can be presented in a number of views.

  • Publication number: 20050283728
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for graphical presentation of objects and/or technical processes on a screen, as well as an editor implementing the method. For the graphical reproduction of objects or the illustration of technical processes it is frequently necessary to work with a number of views. In most cases an overview representation is required as well as one or more individual representations of part of the object or of the process. With graphical user interfaces there is thus the requirement for switching between these different views, with the user rapidly losing the overview in the case of a number of views.

  • Publication number: 20050278638
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for graphical presentation of objects and/or technical processes on a screen as well as to the computer program implementing the method. In these cases different views or perspectives are frequently selected which are represented in different display windows. In order to edit the totality of all views or subsequently look at them a frequent change of view is thus required. Such changes of view are however cumbersome and tedious and also take time. To resolve this problem the display area (3) is equipped with a least one element (4) which can be activated by means of an input device (5). Activating the element (4) expands or contracts the contents of the display area (3) by a graphical object (6). In this way a frequent change of view is avoided, which allows ergonomic working.
