  • Patent number: 7707705
Abstract: Metallic guide elements having a functional area are made from profiled blanks by hot forming the profiled blanks and subsequently milling in a high speed milling cutter system the profiled blanks by a position-controlled milling cutter head with milling disks of a great diameter, wherein in the step of hot forming the profiled blanks are matched with regard to a cross-sectional mass distribution of the profiled blanks, respectively, to the subsequent step of milling such that by a partial cutting removal in the areas of the profiled blanks that become the functional area of the guide element narrow dimensional tolerances are produced. The material flow of the profiled blanks within the high-speed milling cutter system is controlled autonomously by an integrated stacking device that has manipulators and turning stations.

  • Publication number: 20060186093
Abstract: In a method for producing metal composite block material, the joining surfaces of composite block elements are machined by machine-cutting to a metallically bright state. Subsequently, the composite block elements are joined by electron beam welding to a composite block material. The composite block material is formed by steel extrusion to a composite pipe.

  • Patent number: 6174398
Abstract: A method of fabricating the composite metal-and-plastic components of an antiballistic grill for an armored vehicle. Each component comprises a core in the form of a length of structural section with layers of plastic against each side bonded to the core by heat and pressure in a mold comprising two halves. The object of the present invention is simpler and more economical lamination in the fabrication of non-flat work with a metal core. The core is electrically heated to a prescribed processing temperature by regulating a current of electricity, whereby the resulting heat is employed to soften to a prescribed extent adhesive between the core and the layers of plastic to be bonded to it.
